Shouldn't this be stated by representatives of the Mandir?Do you

represent the Mandir?I think an open forum where people can work

through their own religious / spritual issues is a good thing. I

realize that many people don't like negativity but I've found that

those people simply don't know how to let negativity fall away, like

water off a duck's back.

************** This is one of the hardest places in sadhana. We all

have our sensitive issue's and so it takes great strength to face

what appears to be negative. I agree that not all people know how to

do this, but with the desire to learn how to let it go will come

assistance ************ I think Swami Satyananda would tell us if he

felt we were too far off topic.

********* A good idea is skimming thru material and if you can see

certain words that will not interest you, delete it and move on, just

like when we are at work - time management and being efficient. Just

my advice on reading emails of any kind.*******The subject of

religious idealogies and abuse of religious ideals is very current

and very real and I think talking about it, getting the feelings out

in the open is a very good way to begin to heal. Many of us were

raised in strict religious circumstances. Stated or not we were

pressured to fit into a certain mold. Generally those molds are not

condusive to spiritual growth. Allowing those molds to be broken is a

painful and often emotional process. I think we should allow that

evolution in this forum and witness the awakening and growth of

consciousness in each other. That is to say we should be accepting of

everyone's stage of

development and we should love each other anyway.

********* This is a good topic amongst sadhaka's.. Acceptance. Mainly

of the things that bug the hell out of us are gems to Knowing

Ourselves. Ma gives us lots to work on and so with the rocks of

irritation, with cutting the rocks eventually creates precious jewels

and then you have something to give someone - Understanding. If we

drop the rocks at Ma's feet and say, "No! No! This is a rock! I

don't want a rock! It's scratchy and doesn't shine! Ma, a Rock?"

With acceptance and the right tools and the understanding of how to

use the tools in action, we can make beautiful gems out of the rock's

Ma gives us. We can't do an emotional or bypass when things irritate

us and expect to learn anything. ***********I'm of the opinion that

all religions in the world have good people and bad people, that is

to say people who want to help others / further our spiritual growth

and people who wish to manipulate and control for power, money or

other basic gains.I think Mohammad lived in violent times. I think

its probably unfair to judge his actions with our morals because our

morals probably couldn't have existed in his day.I've not studied the

Koran but I do know good people who are Moslem. I think it just goes

to show that goodness can be found where ever we look for it,

assuming we are looking for it.I found it in Christianity, despite

what the Catholics did in the middle ages and continue to do up till

this day to manipulate the conscience of the individual will. I'm

sure there are those who find it in Islam.Mother teaches us to

love everyone. And that's not just advice, that's a principle. I

believe that love is the only path to peace and that hating anyone is

merely empowering the violence. Gandhi had that right, he lived the

example and it worked.

*********** I think also is to understand the patriarchal tendancies

(some more latent than others) we all have learned from authoritarian

teachers - to control and be dominant 'over' anything. I believe that

is one reason most of us here love our matriarchal Mother who will

always listen to us and empower us. It's one thing to love Her, but

to emulate Her is another and takes great awareness, understanding

and gentleness. *********

Hi Kelly,

Very nice reply. Thanks. I love the rocks to gems analogy.

I notice that a lot of people have problems with the word acceptance.

They prefer tolerance. But tolerance implies resentment to me. People

don't like the word acceptance because they think it means condone, but

it doesn't to me, to me its just about allowing others to do their thing,

what ever that happens to be, as long as it doesn't break the golden

rule.

Namaste All Y'all,

My Pranams to you. I speak only for myself and not as a

representative of the Devi Mandir of which I am happy to be a member.

I believe in freedom of speech and you have the right to discuss

anything that you want . Just keep in mind that this is a offical

forum for the Mandir and is authorized/blessed by Shree Maa and

Swamiji - they have a link to this group in the website, as part of

the signature in their email and so on , and so whatever is discussed

here will in someway reflect on them .

So let us keep talking - in a spirit of sincere questioning,

without bringing any darkness/illwill to the name of this group or

our beloved Gurus.

Love

Latha
