krsna
ECSTATIC SANKIRTANA FESTIVAL CROWDS OF DEVOTEES ATTENDED a four-day festival held in Alachua, Florida, headed by National Sankirtana Party Leader, Vaisesika Prabhu. The festival and seminar on book distribution included “Innovative, Painless Methods for Distributing Srila Prabhupada’s Books,” “Singing Bhaktivinoda Thakura’s Bhajanas,” “The Seven Secrets of Highly Successful Book Distributors,” “The Four Laws of Book Distribution,” and “The Iron-Clad Laws: Sadhana, Get Books, The More You Show, the More You Sell, and Organize.” Veteran book distributors who had not gone out in over twenty years said the seminar stirred the desire in their heart to go back out on sankirtana. Newcomers were excited to hear about the Weekend Warrior book tables, the Shastra-Dana (charity for shastra) program, which places sponsored books in stores and businesses, and methods for distributing Srila Prabhupada’s full sets of Srimad-Bhagavatam and Chaitanya-charitamrita. Devotees announced that they were incredibly inspired by the event. With Vaisesika’s help, they formed the Alachua Sankirtana Team. Devotees then set up a book table outside the largest grocery store in town. Hundreds of shoppers received cookie prasadam, and numerous BBT books were distributed. When Vaisesika Prabhu is out in public, he says he hands a Bhagavad-gita to anyone he meets and says, “Bhakti is the yoga of gratitude. Have you ever noticed that when you are grateful, you are happy no matter what your external circumstances are? If you don’t feel gratitude, it doesn’t matter what material things you have, you are still unhappy, because happiness comes from within.” You can sponsor your own sankirtana festival.
