A distorted view of the self

Trying to see the self through the use of a faulty mirror(impure mind) can only give a distorted viewing.

BG 6.20-23: In the stage of perfection called trance, or samadhi, one's mind is completely restrained from material mental activities by practice of yoga. This perfection is characterized by one's ability to see the self by the pure mind and to relish and rejoice in the self. In that joyous state, one is situated in boundless transcendental happiness, realized through transcendental senses. Established thus, one never departs from the truth, and upon gaining this he thinks there is no greater gain. Being situated in such a position, one is never shaken, even in the midst of greatest difficulty. This indeed is actual freedom from all miseries arising from material contact.

Everything has consciousness down to the Trees, Cows, Plants everything is Conscious, we all omit a shadow while in the presence of The Conscious Suns. This also is a shadow of Superior Consciousness? Whether we are highly conscious or on a low level, indeed consciousness is of different varieties is it not? Going back to the example of the trees, they are conscious beings, but we do not have their consciousness.

 

So the questions we need to ask ourselves is, can we exceed our present consciousness? What is it that is the controlling principle of consciousness? These are intelligent questions which lead us up to our present conviction of whether a soul can indeed exist. Lets think for a moment again about material consciousness, this could be emitted via a higher being. Just as the Sun in its vastness emits a shadowy representation on this Planet we call the earth. So our bodies must be controlled via a conduct which is in turn emitted from its own consciousness. Indeed this chain must be extending to a Supreme Conscious being. This may not make sense at first. But considering our own conscious thoughts. We can either neglect/reject/or throw away, but we cannot neglect our consciousness. We are indeed conscious of the fact there are beings even on this planet who have higher thought patterns than out own. Whence these are coming from? Who is giving God knowledge to beings but ourselves? And not me?

 

The secret must be in the fact these beings have realized by factual adherence to make their consciousness enlightened. **Conscious to the fact they are conscious! They are not these shadow emitted by the soul. But how can this be? We are not these bodies? What is the secret in not being these bodies? The answer is a very simple one, spirit as a principle needs a tool to work with. The body is a tool. Only a tool. In its higher consciousness the soul requires a body which is conductive to its own realization. So in higher consciousness we change our bodies, this may be hard to believe, but lets look at other creatures, according to their own realization they have acquired these bodies.

 

So we may ask am I the master of my own destiny? Yes. This question is an intelligent question. Individual consciousness is felt throughout the creation. Oneness is a myth created by beings who want to destroy varied emotions in spiritual exsistance. Almost like an voidness of all things pleasurable. But in a state of Eternality, this can be felt by locking yourself in a room with a TV set, its not reality but you may feel eternal in the fact you are watching something special. So this is also our position. We are outside watching inside. That doesn't make any sense. But this is because of our lower consciousness. We must somehow be in knowledge that we are not these bodies of matter but eternal conscious beings of complete purity. But whence this knowledge will come? Who can provide this crying of knowledge which is our very nature of being.

 

Is there anybody who has actually realised this? Bhagavad-Gita says:

 

Just try to learn the truth by approaching a spiritual master. Inquire from him submissively and render service unto him. The self-realized soul can impart knowledge unto you because he has seen the truth.

Bg.4.34

 

But why is this being conscious and not me? And how is it that he can provide me with anything? Why should I go to any 'human being'? In actuality this person has realized his own nature as the servant of the Supreme Consciousness. So he is using his body as a mere tool for the Supreme Consciousness. This is the aspirants goal. Consciousness also has collieries like happiness/sadness/etc. One of the most highest in material life is sex pleasure which even the dog and cats have access to. But the goal of the Higher Conscious beings is to have a kind of a communion of Consciousness with the Supreme Consciousness. Like a mellow {spiritual feeling also called 'rasa' or taste.} This is what spiritual aspirants desire to have. This is their goal to taste the sweetness of the Supreme Consciousness which is missing in their own spiritual nature. Now I am using spiritual nature not material. Supreme Consciousness can only be described as spiritual. We are not talking of a shadowy representation. This is the Consciousness of consciousnesses. He is alone conscious. So where does this leave us?

 

Again our level is to be adhered at all times. To a scholar Supreme Conscious means 'He knows all'.--means He is throughout the creation. This means Supreme Consciousness is so vast it cannot but spread its own nature like a Dam that's burst its banks. While the bank itself is still in its own Original position. This is Transcendental position 'The Supreme Consciousness created His own self to be spread throughout the creation, But being in reality with His own self He discontinued to destroy His very own nature as an Original Person.' Eternality cannot be destructive force, it only know Eternal Nature.

 

So this means the world is a shadow representation of some 'other' nature? That we cannot perceive in our own consciousness. The problem is our minds are materially contacted so this/they cannot elevate themselves into Higher Consciousness. This is true for all beings. Any amount of mental speculation cannot reveal our true selves. This is beyond our own capability. Because we are in low consciousness. So we must take the Supreme Consciousness. But how can we 'take'?

 

Lets look at Supreme Consciousness it is everywhere. But still as we said before is situated as Himself. So He is indeed within every pore of your own body. He is within the sky, water, earth, ether, everywhere. There is not a place in existence where He is not to be found: The Supreme Consciousness! One without a 2nd.

 

He is Himself Creation personified. Purusha. The Supreme Autocrat. The master of the senses {which includes our own minds}. This is the reality of Supreme Consciousness, so one may ask 'well then how do I realize this Supreme Consciousness?' As conscious beings we have the will to call somebody by their name 'Oh Mother, father, son, Richard, Panthak, Bhai!. Supreme Consciousness is described by the actions He commits to Himself. He Himself creates His own name. He is the name personified. The Name cannot but be separated from Himself at any moment. Consciousness of His name being separate from Him does not exist. Its as if His name and His form have merged in collaboration of their being in harmony with each other! This is astonishing!

 

So by repeating His name we can perceive of His own existence. Requirement is vast. Supreme Consciousness is very merciful. Him being and knowing alls faults. The position is for our own doing to show feelingly we require some assistance. Remember we are dealing with a Conscious being, not some dead matter. Chanting the name requires on our own part feeling. Otherwise it becomes a mere repetition. The name is both the key and the lock. Don't become locked become the key, how much enthusiasm you have to open the Supreme Consciousness mercy?

 

Mercy is also the key word. Conscious beings are Conscious of the Supreme Being, who in turn is rapt in attention at the Higher conscious beings devotion to He Himself. So its behoves us to approach these amazing Conscious beings. And ask them and serve their instructions. They can indeed shower mercy upon you. The Supreme Consciousness is not privy to our plight as much as when we approach the Higher Conscious beings. And serve them with all our hearts and keep them hidden within. This is the secret of success the Supreme Consciousness is just that Conscious. It requires that we meet this being. We don't require to worship anybody expect the links than He has created viz His Name, His own devotees. Creation of His name and His own devotees sounds a bit contradictory, but we are not to come to knowledge until the day the Full name manifests on our tongues, until this moment our position is of hardly any importance. Because the sweetness is in the Name. Because we are conscious beings we can have a little mingling taste of this Holy name. Even our own body dances as a prelude to the ecstasy the soul feels at hearing this Supremely Conscious Name.

 

Indeed the name carries all the secrets of success this is the most important point. It abides in the hearts of Pure Devotees, its full extent, merging the hearts into rapture and showing them the form of Godhead which they have been thrusting for generations!

 

Who can this be, who is it? You may ask yourselves. How can I also feel this? This is intelligent questions. And this will happen again and again. Our consciousness is not steady neither right now in any communion with Supremacy. So we must steady it by factual adherence to certain principles. These act as a fire to conditional life. It burns it up. If your diseased you don't ask yourself whether you should take medication. This is an requirement, you must do it! Today or tomorrow we must get medicated. That's not even an issue to be raised upon. This is a mere fact which your can comprehend for yourself. We are thirsting for some enlightenment. Which gives us a clue to our existence in this vast creation. Which ever way you look at it. There is only one solution:
