Rupa Gosvami teaches how to develop Krishna consciousness

"...Upadesamrta constitutes the first instructions for neophyte devotees. One should follow these instructions very strictly. Then it will be easier to make one's life successful. ...

The six Gosvamis were expert in scrutinizingly studying all the scriptures with the aim to establish real religion in the world. They left many books to guide us, the most famous of which is Sri Rupa Gosvami's Bhakti-rasamrta-sindhu (The Nectar of Devotion), which gives the neophyte devotee initial direction.

"Therefore we have to follow the footsteps of Rupa Gosvami, rupanuga. Then we can understand Lord Caitanya.

--------------

Paramananda Puri and Svarupa Damodara—were the heart and soul of the Lord.

But the Lord is understood only in pursuance of the principles laid down by the Gosvamis, headed by Svarupa Damodara.

This means that all Gaudiya Vaisnavas who are followers of the Caitanya cult are subordinate to Svarupa Damodara Gosvami. The parampara system is very strictly observed by Gaudiya Vaisnavas. Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's personal secretary was Svarupa Damodara Gosvami. The next group of devotees was the six Gosvamis, then Kaviraja Gosvami. It is necessary to observe the parampara system of the Caitanya cult.

To select our mahajanas in the Gaudiya-sampradaya, we have to follow in the footsteps of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu and His representatives. His next representative is Sri Svarupa Damodara Gosvami, and the next are the six Gosvamis ...

Among the devotees who accompanied the Lord in Jagannatha Puri, two of them—Paramananda Puri and Svarupa Damodara—were the heart and soul of the Lord. Among the other devotees were Gadadhara, Jagadananda,.. Vakresvara, Damodara Pandita, Thakura Hariasa, Raghunatha Vaidya and Raghunatha dasa.

-------------

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu is none other than the combined form of Sri Radha and Krsna. He is the life of those devotees who strictly follow in the footsteps of Srila Rupa Gosvami. Srila Rupa Gosvami and Srila Sanatana Gosvami are the two principal followers of Srila Svarupa Damodara Gosvami, who acted as the most confidential servitor of Lord Sri Krsna Caitanya Mahaprabhu,

Svarupa Damodara has been identified as Lalita-devi, the second expansion of Radharani. However, the authoritative Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika of Kavi-karnapura describes Svarupa Damodara as the same Visakha-devi who serves the Lord in Goloka Vandavana. Therefore it is to be understood that Sri Svarupa Damodara is a direct expansion of Radharani who helps the Lord experience the attitude of Radharani.

In the Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika, verses 147 through 153, it is stated: “The pleasure potency of Sri Krsna formerly known as Vrndavanisvare is now personified in the form of Sri Gadadhara Pandita in the pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu." Sri Svarupa Damodara Gosvami has pointed out that in the shape of Laksmi, the pleasure potency of Krsna, she was formerly very dear to the Lord as Syamasundara-vallabha. The same Syamasundara-vallabha is now present as Gadadhara Pandita. Formerly, as Lalita-sakhe, she was always devoted to Srimati Radharani. In the Twelfth Chapter of this part of the Caitanya-caritamata there is a description of the descendants or disciplic succession of Gadadhara Pandita.

The doctrine of transcendental enjoyment by Krsna cannot be mixed up with the doctrine of transcendental feeling of separation from Krsna in the role of Radharani.

-

( The most raised vision is Svarupa Damodar as Lalita-devi. This highest vision. Lord Caitanya it Radha Krishna, about it has told Svarupa Damodara - )

As Svarupa Damodara Gosvami has explained, radha Krsna-... (Cc. Adi 1.5). The ahladini-sakti is manifested as Radharani, but Krsna and Radharani are the same, although one is potent and the other is potency.

Svarupa Damodara Gosvami has described Lord Caitanya as Krsna Himself with the attitude of Radharani, or a combination of Radha and Krsna. The intention of Lord Caitanya is to taste Krsna's sweetness in transcendental love. He does not care to think of Himself as Krsna, because He wants the position of Radharani.

Lord Caitanya has accepted the role of Radharani, and we should support that position, as Svarupa Damodara did in the Gambhira (the room where Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu stayed in Puri). He always reminded Lord Caitanya of Radha's feelings of separation as they are described in Srimad-Bhagavatam,

The two transcendentalists Radha and Krsna are a puzzle to materialists. The above description of Radha and Krsna from the diary of Srila Svarupa Damodara Gosvami is a condensed explanation, but one needs great spiritual insight to understand the mystery of these two personalities. One is enjoying in two. Sri Krsna is the potent factor, and Srimati Radharani is the internal potency. According to Vedanta philosophy, there is no difference between the potent and potency: they are identical. We cannot differentiate between one and the other, any more than we can separate fire from heat.

Lord Caitanya's heart was full of the feelings of Srimati Radharani, and His appearance resembled Hers. Svarupa Damodara has explained His attitude as radha-bhava-murti, the attitude of Radharani.

Sri Svarupa-Damodara Gosvami has said that Radha and Krsna assumed oneness in the form of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

Sri Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvate Thakura comments in this connection that such feelings of separation as Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu enjoyed from the books of Vidyapati, Caeoedasa and Jayadeva are especially reserved for persons like Sri Ramananda Raya and Svarupa Damodara, who were paramahamsas, men of the topmost perfection, because of their advanced spiritual consciousness.

Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu again entrusted him to Svarupa Damodara. Thus Raghunatha dasa rendered very confidential service with Svarupa Damodara Gosvami.

PURPORT

Antaraiga-seva refers to service performed in one's spiritual body. Svarupa Damodara Gosvami was formerly Lalitadevi.

------------------------------

(1 - Lord Caitanya that Radha Krishna. That Svarupa Damodar it Lalita (first expansion Radha which helps Krishna).

( 2- If the person worships Lord Caitanya as to Krishna, Gadahara Pandit it Radha, - )

In the Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika, verses 147 through 153, it is stated: “ The pleasure potency of Sri Krsna formerly known as Vrndavanisvare is now personified in the form of Sri Gadadhara Pandita in the pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. "

( Then the person sees Svarupa Damodar as Visakha devi)

the authoritative Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika of Kavi-karnapura describes Svarupa Damodara as the same Visakha-devi who serves the Lord in Goloka Vandavana.

( But really role "Radha" plays Svarupa Damodara ( Lalita devi ), therefore Svarupa Damodara writes - )

" The pleasure potency of Sri Krsna formerly known as Vrndavanicvare is now personified in the form of Sri Gadadhara Pandita in the pastimes of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu. " Sri Svarupa Damodara Gosvami has pointed out that in the shape of Laksmi, the pleasure potency of Krsna,

( Because Svarupa Damodara is in role Radha, or because Lord Caitanya is Radharani - Radha Krisna, therefore Svarupa Damodara writes Gadadhara it Laksmi devi. )

CC -

"Gadadhara Pandita's pure ecstatic love for Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was also very deep. It was like that of Rukmieedevi, who was always especially submissive to Krsna.

Lord Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu sometimes desired to see Gadadhara Pandita's affectionate anger, but because of knowledge of the Lord's opulences, his anger was never invoked.

For this purpose Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu sometimes showed His apparent anger. Hearing of this anger inspired great fear in the heart of Gadadhara Pandita.

Previously, in Krsna-lila, when Lord Krsna wanted to joke with Rukminidevi, she took His words seriously, and fear awoke within her mind.

( Gaura Gadadhara it Laksmi Narayana really. Bhaktivinoda teaches in mood Rukminidevi worship Radha-Krisna. In any case training to direct relations ( sambhoga ), is a preliminary subject of training )

Version CC -

"Previously, when Srimati Radharani felt the pangs of separation from Krsna, Her constant companion Lalita kept Her alive by helping Her in many ways. Similarly, when Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu felt Radharani's emotions, Svarupa Damodara Gosvami helped Him maintain His life.

The transformations undergone by the Lord when He manifested severe unhappiness due to separation from Krsna cannot be described.

Because the Lord associated with various devotees during the day, His mind was somewhat diverted, but at night the pangs of separation from Krsna increased very rapidly.

Two people-Ramananda Raya and Svarupa Damodara Gosvami-stayed with the Lord to pacify Him by reciting various verses about Krsna's pastimes and by singing appropriate songs for His satisfaction.

To describe the fortunate position of Ramananda Raya and Svarupa Damodara Gosvami is extremely difficult. They were renowned as intimately confidential friends of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu.

Shrila Prabhupada's version -

"Svarupa Damodara has been identified as Lalita-devi, the second expansion of Radharani. However, the authoritative Gaura-ganoddesa-dipika of Kavi-karnapura describes Svarupa Damodara as the same Visakha-devi who serves the Lord in Goloka Vandavana. Therefore it is to be understood that Sri Svarupa Damodara is a direct expansion of Radharani who helps the Lord experience the attitude of Radharani."

( Srivasa Thakur is directly in mood Lord Caitanya as. He is expansion Lord Caitanya and consequently He the head of all devotees Lord Caitanya. That Shrila Prabhupada preaches it and is pure fidelity. This pure Krishna Consciousness or the pure movement Lord Caitanya submitted in books of Shrila Prabhupada. If to whom that seemed that he already knows these books, he simply a fool and the materialist.

Really position Lord Caitanya is highest. Lord Caitanya play role perfect highest pure devotee. Therefore following for pure devotee, everyone reaches the supreme perfection. Lord Caitanya as pure devotee it is Srivasa Thakur. Srivasa Thakur is in pure Krishna Consciousness or in mood Lord Caitanya it is direct. Therefore He is stay in PANCATATTVA. And consequently HE heads all devotees Lord Caitanya.

Svarupa Damodara "help" Lord Caitanya in role "Radha".

Ramananda Ray work as close friend or sakhi.

Gosvamis write all doctrine KC, many aspects.

Rupa Gosvami write pure combination sambhoga and vipralambha, having specified on vipralambha as the supreme mood

But Srivasa Pandit as pure devotee Lord Caitanya teaches direct mood Lord Caitanya. Therefore He the head of all devotees Lord Caitanya )

Mood Lord Caitanya it is higest spiritual position, it is pure Krisna Conciousness.

Bhaktivedanta Svami -

"Everything is explained in Bhagavad-gita. Therefore, to learn how to become free from the miserable condition of material existence, Bhagavad-gita As It Is is the preliminary study. Then, if one understands Bhagavad-gita, one can proceed to Srimad-Bhagavatam [Krisna lila], and if one advances further, one may study Caitanya-caritamrta.

Actually, the Caitanya-caritamrta is not intended for the novice, for it is the postgraduate study of spiritual knowledge. Ideally, one begins with the Bhagavad-gita and advances through Srimad-Bhagavatam to the Caitanya-caritamrta.

Although all these great scriptures are on the same absolute level, for the sake of comparative study the Caitanya-caritamrta is considered to be on the highest platform.

Bhaktivedanta Svami -

"Since we belong to this chain of disciplic succession from Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, this edition of Sri Caitanya-caritamrta will contain nothing newly manufactured by our tiny brains, but only remnants of food originally eaten by the Lord Himself."
