PURPORT : A fraction of a particular thing is called a part, and that from which the fraction is distinguished is called the whole. Therefore the fraction, or part, is included within the whole. The Lord is the whole, and the devotee is the part or fractionated part. That is the relationship between the Lord and the devotee. There are also gradations of devotees, who are calcualted as greater and lesser. When a devotee is great he is called prabhu , and when he is lesser he is called bhakta , or a devotee. The supreme whole is Krsna, and Baladeva and all Visnu incarnations are his fractions. Lord Krsna is therefore consciousness of his superior position, and all Visnu incarnations are conscious of their positons as devotees. And its been a long time since I have been so surprized. No doubt it is true. But I am to believe Vishnu-Tattva is same as Krishna. So what is this? theist Posted August 6, 2004 Report Share Posted August 6, 2004 Krsna is the cause of all causes. Vishnu in relation to us is Master. We are seen as His servants. But why can't Vishnu also have a taste of being Krsna's servant? Could Vishnu see Krsna as His servant when Krsna is His cause? We cannot pidgeon hole God into our particular way of thinking. Acintya. Contemplating His nature should blow our minds at every step. It's good that you get surprised by something new. People that just read, think they get it, memorize it and then spit it out at the appropriate time, re still licking the outside of the honey jar IMO. Certainly we can get a form of proper understanding that way but I still think we need to be taken much deeper. There is also another level.
