wash your hands with soap and warm water. You use the santified water from the acamana cup before doing anything for the deities ie offerings - you keep the cup at the altar.

You do not keep altar parapernalia in the bathroom. You have called the holy rivers to the water in the acamana cup and do not keep that in such a dirty place.

In Srila Prabhupada's bathroom in Bhaktivedanta Manor, there is an acamana cup on the sink. This leads me to think that Srila Prabhupada did acamana in the bathroom?

mantras. And yes, you put fresh water in the cup in the morning, say the mantras etc and use it throughout the day. You do not throw the remaining water down the drain or in the toilet as it has been santified and should be treated with respect.

Again, this is how I was taught to do this.
