ancient_paztriot 0 Report post Posted February 12, 2004 Hridayananda… Our whole life is simply a series of acts of assertion or non-acceptance… we accept and don't accept. At every moment we choose to do something or we choose not to do something, refraining and accepting, all kinds of different activities. So what is the criterion? How do you judge that I should do this or I should not do this? That is buddhi. That is actually what is meant by the word buddhi. To understand what you should do and what you should not do, you have to know the relative value of the thing, what their consequences are, you have to have a sense of your own nature, what is wrong, what is God, what is the soul… these things are all required to actually have clear intelligence. danava 0 Report post Posted February 13, 2004 well in Bhagavad-gita Sri Krishna says that the best is to full surrender to Him. But if you "cannot" you do this, and if cannot this and so on Finally Sri Krishna says -- if you can't do even this -- cultivat the knowledge "If you cannot take to this practice, then engage yourself in the cultivation of knowledge. Better than knowledge, however, is meditation, and better than meditation is renunciation of the fruits of action, for by such renunciation one can attain peace of mind." BG-12.12 This is very interested place from Bhagavad-gita. Hope it helps.
