Some Americans (clad in saffron coloured robes) chanting ‘Hare Ram’, ‘Hare Krishna’, spread the impression that these Hindu deities symbolised peace. (Rama fought and conquered Sri Lanka and Krishna led a bloody war against the Koruas, not withstanding). In any case, it is argued, that the Hindus never fought against the West, the Muslims did.

Their hatred for Lord Krishna or Lord Rama is purely out of ignorance and imcorrect indoctrination and guidance. Basically, non-Hindus have objection to Hindus worshiping idols, without ever trying to understand its deeper meaning. Basically, due to material contamination, we identify everything which has a form, so we can identify God with form, known as "Saguna Bhakti". Enlightened Yogis can worship Formless God, as they have high level of consciousness developed due to their severe spiritual austerities. Anyway, how does it matter to Lord Krishna? Shishupala reached Lord Krishna due to his hatred for the Lord.

*sigh* ...here we go again...another attempt to use religion for political gain... it's the disease that runs deep in all the so called "abrahamic" traditions (judaism, christianity and islam)... how about some pure love of God for a change? study Bhagavad Geeta, it will open your eyes...
