Guest guest
hi, hare krishnas & everybody, who's interested in Krishna yeh, that's my question, I was just deciding to add the Parmesan cheese, which contains it up to my food, or not. I didn't, cause I found out some time ago that there exists something like healthy paranoya and it is really helpful. I'm not originally English speaking so maybe that did play a role too. thanks in advance. haribol!!!
theist
Rennet is only found naturally in the stomachs of newly borns calves. They slaughter the calves to get the rennet. Rennet is not found in adult cows. Here is a good article on it. http://www.vegsoc.org/info/cheese.html I boycott all dairy myself because it is an intimate part of the cow slaughter industry. stonehearted
The microbial rennet is not from slaughtered animals. That information is on the site theis referred you to, as well as many others. Here's a good source of information on what cheeses may be edible by vegetarians: http://www.vrg.org/nutshell/cheesebybrand.htm
Guest guest
thank you for your informations, it's kind of tricky for people, who became vegetarians and they think they are, although they eat this animal derived rennet stuff contained in some cheese. Also gelatin is from animals & it's contained in yogurts, some sweets. I think I'm gonna make some Parmesan food for Krishna now /images/graemlins/smile.gif
