Age of PrahladMaharaj

How old was he when Lord Narsimha killed his father ?

Some say 5 years or so , but how is that possible. When he was in womb of his mother, Hirnyakasipu went for Tapsya . It is said that he did Tapsya for many many years ( not just 5 years or so ) to get the boon of Brahma . So when he came back Prahalad must be a grown up man .

Can some body explain this ?

Hare Krishna,

On mental speculation I could say longer gestation.

On the other hand his mother was brought in heavenly kingdoms by Lord Indra, then taken by Narada Muni to his ashram. Time could have been slower for her there whereas Hiranyakasipu was on earth.

Well for what I can vaguely remember is during this Manu (I hope I'm right, I don't have the Bhagavatam here ... I'm at work hehe) During a Satya yuga. The thing is each manu lives for up to 71 cycles of 4-yugas. We are currently at number 28.

So in short minimum 2.2-3.9 million years ago up to many many more depending on the 4-yuga cycle he appeared.

The whole point of the story is that Krishna comes to protect you in the time of need.

It is Yada Yada Hi Dharmasya, Gyanir bhavathu nibharata...

etc. etc.

what age he is, is not important. The moral of the incident is.

The age of Prahlad would be like asking about the body parts of "Narasimha"

For example, his finger nails are considered to be missiles of fire! now , how is that possible?!

wouldn't those nails detonate on Narasimha's body and..."BOOM!"

No? , why not?

__________

So, the point is Krishna comes out always to protect us, whether it is a car accident, or a fanatic trying to kill you or something else.

thank you.
