Guest guest Report post Posted June 29, 2003 Why does wealth corrupt people? Why do people think it is aristrocratic to drink, to eat meat and to live in the disgust of this world? If one of our loved ones is suffering deeply due to the corruption of others? can we help by changing their karma? how ? is there a method?
theist 1 Report post Posted June 29, 2003 certainly we can help. By somehow bringing their senses into contact with Krsna through hearing some instruction or the Name. Maha-prasadam etc. But family members have their own wills also. I've seen devotee parents become so depressed at seeing their children reject Krsna consciousness or not take to it very strongly. Just like parents who are materialists become depressed when they see their children reject the attainments of the world and take to bhakti-yoga. And those same children become alienated from their parents when they don't understand and follow suit to some degree. Ultimately change of heart comes about through the self surrender of each individual. Best to become a stronger and stronger devotee yourself and you will naturaly benefit everyone. Guest guest Report post Posted June 29, 2003 <<Why does wealth corrupt people? Why do people think it is aristrocratic to drink, to eat meat and to live in the disgust of this world? >> it corrupts only to a person who does not know how to use it for god of going to god. <<If one of our loved ones is suffering deeply due to the corruption of others? can we help by changing their karma?>> the past karma cannot be changed, the future karma can be. the world/society is a stage where suras and asuras (good guys and bad guys) constantly try to influence each other. consequenty some fall, some rise. <<how ? is there a method?>> yes. all various ways of education, media, institutions, social meetings, literature, philanthropic work, products, commercials, forums like this, etc. good guys want others to know the truth they know, generally. bad guys also want to know the truth, but dont want others to know it, generally. jai sri krishna!
