This is what we unfortunately hear from some neophyte devotees sometimes when we want to engage ourselves in the hearing, chanting, singing and discussing the bhajans of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura. Is it because that we are so neopyte ourselves that we cannot possibly bring about the proper spiritual atmosphere for the saranagati(self-surrender) of the soul to take place? When i sing the saranagati bhajans do thy sense that i am simply posing as a true sincere saranagata?Or is it that these songs from Thakura Bhaktivinoda are simply meant to be sung in private with only Krishna in attendance? /images/graemlins/frown.gif

If we "please chant Hare Krsna" we are already into the "saranagati busines". For then you surrender to the request. A bit of a redundant statement, is it not? The songs from Bhaktivinoda should be sung together, after all, Mahaprabhu asked us to do so.

Samkirtana, comes from kirtan, to sing, and samyak, meaning full or complete. That demands full engagement or full surrender. So why ask, if the result is that you have to surrender?????

Evidently your post is meant to address a misconception. However, who is saying so?
