You write that things are in a crises in England, with oil shortages and IRA bombing. Therefore, we have to take shelter of Krsna. If Krsna wants to kill us, that is not wrong, if it is His desire. Yogesvara: One problem that seems to be occurring more and more frequently is the appearance of terrorists, that is to say, men who are motivated for some political reasons.

 

Prabhupada: Yes, I have already explained the whole basic principle. Because they are animals, so sometimes ferocious animal. That’s all. There are different types of animals- tigers and lions. So if some animal comes as very ferocious, that is not very astonishing. After all, you are living in an animal society.

 

The only solution is that you become an ideal human being. Either a tiger comes or elephant comes, but you don’t become an animal. Counteract. That is required.

 

A human being is called a rational animal. You come to rationality, that is required. If you remain also another type of animal, that will not help you. You have to become actually human being.

 

These people do not know what the aim of human life is. So their animal propensities are being adjusted this way, that way, this way, that way. Just like they go to see naked dance. The animal propensity—he is seeing his wife daily naked, and still he is going to see naked dance, and paying some fees. Because they have no engagement except this animalism. Is it not?

 

A dog is simply chewing one bone, this way, that way, this way, that way. Because he is an animal he has no other engagement. So this whole society is like an animal. Especially the westerners have developed a civilization based on animal propensities: “I am this body, and the best use of my life is to gratify my senses.” This is animal.

 

You have to introduce a real human civilization. You should not be surprised if animals in different shapes and different capacities come out. As the dog is thinking, “I am dog, very stout and strong dog,” so a man is thinking, “I am big nation.” But what is the basic principle? A dog is thinking on the basis of his body, and this big nation is also thinking on the basis of body. So there is no difference between this dog and this big nation. The only difference is that a human being, by nature’s gift, has got better senses. There is no education to utilize the better senses to advance spiritually and get out of this material world. i would add this:

 

just counter-acting at the symptom - an act of terrorism - does not help. when a suicide bomber desotroys a temple or a congregation of devotees sitting at the temple, then the only counter-act left is to do funeral of the dead and treatment of the wounded, and also clean up and rebuilding the temple if broken. this does not solve terrorism poblem.

 

Hare krishna need to know well how plans it, funds, it, and executes it, and why. it is a great mistake to think that a terrorist act is an isolate d act of a person or two. terrorists are well organized, funded and committed. theyare willing to die for it. that much serious are they for it. so, we the kafirs need to be that much organized, funded, manned, equiped, committed to finish the root cause of the terrorism. we should be more committed to act, not, pro-act in our actions against terrorism. when we do it, we are providing a free, safe, and secure enviroment where devotees can do their various sadhana.

also, to think that a terror act at a place not belonging to hare krishnas is no concern of hare krishnas is a grave mistake and sinfully wrong. hare krishna are kafirs also as described in the Book of that ideology.

The FBI defines international terrorism as "the unlawful use of force or violence commintted by a group or individual, who has some connection to a foreign power or whose activities transcend national boundries, against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives."

 

The FBI definition, although meant to describe acts directed against the United States, would seem to cover rather well countless acts of the US government itself. Humans are civilised beings and have been since the creation of Adam and Eve. We were not monkeys, maybe you'd like to be but the rest of us sure weren't!

Even that one you claim was a monkey god was a man. Did you know that? Apparently he was very powerful as a M-A-N and had a great deal of strength, as some of the worlds most powerful M-E-N have. Therefore his community was afraid that he would discover his strength and use it against them to his own wishes, thus they didnot allow him to beleive taht he was human and therefore almost 'dumbed' him in society. Since then most artists drew his picture as a monkey, almost like a symbol or trademark. As, in reality that species of monkey does not even exist in the whole breed of monkeys.
