Notice there is a man with an unclean spirit. BUT no one knew it. They were comfortable with this spirit. The unclean spirit was comfortable as well. UNTIL: The true word of God walked in. Then he cried out. Look at his words- Saying, let us alone, what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth. How sad in that some people have gone to some of these places to learn of Jesus and to worship him and have gotten so deceived. The point is make sure you are being taught the true word of God. theist 1 Report post Posted April 6, 2003 we have to be careful who we hear from. Even well meaning people are prone to make mistakes. Our senses are imperfect so it is guarunteed we will misunderstand. Then these misconceptions can take hold and become long term doctrines If we pray to the Lord within, the Holy Spirit, He will lead us to a credible source for instruction. That is why Jesus spoke in parables and stated, "to him that hath ears let him hear". The bible is a spiritual book and is only understood by the spiritual. I also believe that God teaches us everyday as we grow in him. Almost like you wouldn'g let your kid have a license until they could be trusted with it.
