Food Question

I have a couple of unopened jars of Lemon Pickle that I left in my house this summer when I went to the mountains. It gets very hot where I live and to conserve on energy I did not leave the air on.

My question is will the pickle still be good?

I am not sure how hot it got in my house but I know it got very hot because some shampoo bottles over-flowed and some candles are stuck to the dishes they were sitting on.

livingentity, why gamble with something like this. If they are good then you won't get sick. If they have gone bad then you will get deathly ill. They are just pickles. Dump them.

Besides how can you eat them with a clear mind with that kind of doubt? The doubt itself is a type of poison. Play it safe, don't eat them, send them to Tarun instead. Kidding Tarunji. /images/graemlins/smile.gif

How many bottles? Were they mango? lemon?

Please describe. I want to 'relish' vipralambha.

With pickle: the older the better.

Next time inform me. I'll pick them up at an undisclosed location.

There doesn't seem to be anyone else around!!

They were both lemon - one sweet and one hot.

One problem I discovered yesterday is one of the jars had leaked from the top indicating the heat was too much for them. The other jars lid had become loose also. That helped me make my final decision to throw them out.

It can get up to 110 here in the summer so I can only imagine how hot this house got being closed up and all.

I just got a jar of sweet mango pickle - I'll let you know how it is!!

Have you had kerela pickle?
