Naidu to grace Chiru function

VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu will attend the silver jubilee celebrations of super hit film Indra slated for Jan 12 here. The producer, director and other bigwigs in the film industry have invited Naidu to grace the occasion in view of the cordial relations between the chief minister and the actor.

The BJP national president M Venkaiah Naidu is also likely to participate in the function, according to sources. Naidu, who enjoys good rapport with the Telugu film industry, has been gracing major cinema events. Some time back he had attended the celebrations of success of a film starring his brother-inlaw N Balakrishna. However, the gathering of the two important personalities of the state has assumed significance in the light of rumours in political circles that the actor was under pressure to take a plunge into politics. But there are no definite indications about any major announcement by the actor at the celebrations. Chiranjeevi’s fans in Vijayawada and neighbouring districts are busy making arrangements for the event for which more than one lakh may turn up.

The Guntur District Chiranjeevi Fans Association president Sunkara Satish has been touring the district to mobilise at least 15,000 people for the event. Likewise, Chiranjeevi’s fans in Krishna and West Godavari districts too are trying to bring as many people as possible for the event.

Having won accolades and hearts of millions of Telugu movie-goers with his brilliant acting and dancing skills, Chiranjeevi has also endeared himself to the people through various service activities such as running a blood bank and an eye bank. His fan clubs have been carrying out various service activities in each district, thereby earning extra goodwill for the actor.
