Not sure how popular caroling is, as I've never once seen it actually occur. But lately the radio stations have been playing Christmas tunes and I really enjoy a few of them like Noel and Silent Night. I searched but couldn't find any good sites that had streaming audio carols. The few that did mostly had ones with Santa Claus and all that. If anyone finds a good site with devotional carols please post a link. The best I could find were some texts of songs:

Oh Little Town of Bethlehem

Oh Little Town of Bethlehem

O little town of Bethlehem,

How still we see thee lie!

Above thy deep and dreamless sleep

The silent stars go by;

Yet in thy dark streets shineth

The everlasting Light;

The hopes and fears of all the years

Are met in thee to-night.

For Christ is born of Mary,

And gathered all above,

While mortals sleep, the angels keep

Their watch of wondering love.

O morning stars, together

Proclaim the holy birth!

And praises sing to God the King,

And peace to men on earth.

How silently, how silently,

The wondrous gift is given!

So God imparts to human hearts

The blessings of his heaven.

No ear may hear his coming,

But in this world of sin,

Where meek souls will receive him, still

The dear Christ enters in.

Where children pure and happy

Pray to the blessed Child,

Where misery cries out to thee,

Son of the mother mild;

Where charity stands watching

And faith holds wide the door,

The dark night wakes, the glory breaks,

And Christmas comes once more.

O holy Child of Bethlehem!

Descend to us, we pray;

Cast out our sin and enter in,

Be born in us to-day.

We hear the Christmas angels

The great glad tidings tell;

O come to us, abide with us,

Our Lord Emmanuel!

Noel

The first Noel the angel did say

Was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay;

In fields as they lay, keeping their sheep,

On a cold winter's night that was so deep.

Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel,

Born is the King of Israel.

They looked up and saw a star

Shining in the east beyond them far,

And to the earth it gave great light,

And so it continued both day and night. Refrain

And by the light of that same star

Three wise men came from country far;

To seek for a king was their intent,

And to follow the star wherever it went. Refrain

This star drew nigh to the northwest,

O'er Bethlehem it took it rest,

And there it did both stop and stay

Right over the place where Jesus lay. Refrain

Then entered in those wise men three

Full reverently upon their knee,

And offered there in his presence

Their gold, and myrrh, and frakincense. Refrain

Then let us all with one accord

Sing praises to our heavenly Lord;

That hath made heaven and earth of naught,

And with his blood mankind hath bought. Refrain

Haribol, gaurachandra. I have had the pleasure to hear a radio station CBC2 play original christmas carols. Much of this 2 hour program was musicians expressing various spiritual ideas of the Holy Day. Dont have the lyrics, but some were quite enlivening to this writer.

I like the drummer boy, because it conveys that the poor and needy have access to the King of Kings and His glorious Mother.

Haribol, we wish you a Hare Krsna and a Haribol new year. ys, mahaksadasa
