September 5, 2001 -- THE news that Janet Reno is running for the job of governor of Florida is about as funny as a comedian telling jokes to a guy suffering a sneezing attack while stricken with broken ribs.

 

Here is a person who has either been stupid or bullied into making more mistakes than Napoleon invading Russia.

 

"I will not organize any demonstrations against her run," said José Basulto, President of the Brothers to the Rescue, a Cuban exile organization.

 

José still recoils in horror over four of his Cuban-born comrades being blown out of the sky by Cuban MiG jets in 1996 over international waters because Fidel Castro wanted it and Bill Clinton did nothing about it.

 

"Organizing protests against Reno's run for governor? That is one job I won't have to do," said José, who remembers how much Reno's boss Clinton wanted to play kissy-face with Castro.

 

"The Cuban community will just do it [demonstrate] automatically. Peaceful but committed demonstrations that we believe will tell the country, the state, that we don't believe her to be qualified for any public office. And you don't have to be Cuban to know that."

 

I mean here is this woman who changed the job status of U.S. attorney general to the most bizarre degree in American politics.

 

She became not the top cop of the country, but the private law firm of the Clinton administration . . . Reno, Reno and Reno.

 

Consider her record. She was the architect of the disaster in Waco where 82 misguided souls were burned to death on her directive. Do I say that? No, she took responsibility for it.

 

She ordered in the sharpshooters at Ruby Ridge and even Clintonistas cried foul.

 

Ms. Reno, even against the passionate advice of her two top cops, both Democrats, refused to appoint a special counsel into Bill Clinton's arrogant and certainly illegal mugging of Asians to give money to his campaign in return for future favors.

 

An attorney general? She wasn't even an attorney private.

 

This strange lady - and we all saw it - ordered an unwilling SWAT force to storm the house of hard-working relatives of little Elian Gonzalez. They took that little child at gunpoint - no kidnapped is a better word - and put him back into the arms of that bearded bum Castro.

 

And brothers and sisters, that genocidal maniac Castro has used that little boy politically like a used tissue.

 

Said Cuban-born New Yorker Francisco Vidal: "A disgrace that no American should forget - that picture of Elian at gunpoint. In Cuba of course, but in the United States?"

 

"This is a society that voted for immorality when they put Bill Clinton in office," said José Basulto, "why is it a surprise that one of his people would want to run for office? I'm not saying she is immoral, just a stupid pawn."

 

In this most arrogant run for governor against Jeb Bush, it should be celebrated that anyone should be able to compete, even if you were the admitted architect of 82 deaths.

 

Run, Reno, Run - and maybe when the results of the election are in, finally the last stench of the Clintonistas will be vacuumed from fresh air.
