Guest guest
Why do some scholars/devotees say that Vedas are originally Three in number.. but later they were divided into four "Shakhas"?! Is it because vedas are called Trayee?
Guest guest
Veda means knowledge and thus it is singular. However Veda Vyasa odered his disciples to divided them into four section which are know famously known as Rg,Sama,Yajur and atharva. They are then further classified into Upasana Kanda, Karma Kanada and Jyana Kanda. Even puranas are also considered as 5th veda. Hope this will help
