Guest guest
I am hearing some songs of SivaShuthi. And trying to understand the lines. Can somebody help me in understanding the following lines. Gireesham, Genesham (Lord Ganesh), Suresham (Son) & Mahesham(Moon) - Sivam shankaram shanbu meshanameede. Gireendrathmaja sangruhi tartha deham. Girousthamsthitham sarvada panna geyamm. Here are my few questions.. 1. What is Gireesham here? Is it Hill? 2. If it is Hill what makes sense in mixing the name with Ganesh, Son and Moon. 3. "Gireendrathmaja sangruhi..." why the line is giving more importance to "Gireesham" than Ganesham. 4. Is this lines are talking about Sushumna? If yes please explain me clearly. Thanks for you help.
Guest guest
Yes Gireesham is not just a hill but it also signifies the hill. Hills are remnants of violent agni that is seated in the bosom of the mother earth. While meditating on hills or near hills one can see in inner eye the real agni nature. Girishanta -- dweller of mountain and Giritra -- protector of mountain, these names are also used for Lord Siva. It is obvious Giri means something more than a simple mountain. Mahanarayana Upanishad speaks of Uma-Mahesvara as being seated in the raised part of beings -- that is the hridaya.Giri might be that. Or it may be the nadi as you mention. As Lord is unlimited and sarva, each such name may have unlimited possibilities depending upon the maturity of the seeker. Shree Rudram gives Ganapati and Devi as names of Rudra. So, Siva, who is actually always conjoined with aditi is all dieties. This is as per my understanding alone.

May be they are talking about the energy stored in the body and evolving them out.
Guest guest
"May be they are talking about the energy stored in the body and evolving them out." True. But partly untrue also. There is a man who is the center of everything and who is pure consciousness. Energy is from him and from Him everything has expanded.Yogis say that your centre is also his centre, in the hridayya. Unleashing all purity and energy actually involves untying the imaginary knot that exists in your thoughts (mind) that "I am this body". By the way: Girisha also represents achala, sthanu, magnificent, strong, leader, cardinal, fixed etc.
