Namaste,

Last week we went to venice ( Italy ) for holidays....

... we entered a church and then went to its museum , and there was a old piece of the church and on it there were many swastikas ( both, right and left one ) and flowers just as in temples.

i was quite surprised because I don´t know how to interpret it

unfortunatley I couldn´t make a photo because it wasn´t allowed

As far as I know, Swastikas are not Hindu symbol alone. Ancient Greeks also took the symbol of Swastika to their Goddess (of fertility if not mistaken).

So, some Churches (especially where people who goes there are very superstitious and old-fashioned) still keeps symbols such as this as sort of good luck charm and such.

Swastika in Europe is very common, and some can even trace to Britons and Gauls during 11th Century (before and during the time of Christians).
