i am reading a translation of Ramayana.. i don't know if it is a contraddiction or if i forgot something..

when Sri Hanuman flies to Lanka and he sees Pushpaka, the Ravana's vehicle, it is said that Ravana obtained it from Indradeva after doing many austerities..

at the end of the poem, when all the Ramayan is spoken to Sri Ram, it is said that Pushpaka were stolen by Ravana from Kuvera...

have i badly understood?

have you any explanation?

(obtained from indra... or stolen from kuvera)

many thanks.. jaya sri RAM!!!!

mention both the chapters as to where it is written - of Lord Hanuman seeing it and the mention of it in the end, so that an exact reference is made and interpreted.

The details about how Ravana got the Pushpaka Vimana is found in Sundhara khanda of Valmiki Ramayana. It was built by Vishwa karma and was in possession of Kubera, the step brother of Ravana. Ravana did a difficult penance appeasing Brahma deva to conquer Kubera and he did succeed in it and therefore came to possess the wealth of Kubera, a prized one among them being the Pushpaka vimana.
