The name gained currency as Lok Janashakti Party leader and Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan met NCP chief and Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar today. The idea could, however, prove a non-starter unless the RJD backs the move. The LJP and NCP account for 29 and three members in a House of 243. Unless the RJD agrees to back it, the idea would remain a non-starter. Paswan, however, was non-committal on whether Anwar’s name figured for the CM’s post. He only said he stood for a Muslim chief minister, who could be from any non-NDA, non-RJD party. ‘‘I am trying to cobble together like-minded parties for the installation of a secular government in Bihar. My meeting with Pawarji was in that regard,’’ Paswan said. The deadlock, meanwhile, is likely to figure prominently at the JD(U)’s two-day national executive meeting beginning on Sunday. ---------------------- ps.(I´m not against a muslim CM, as long he´s willing to do good things. )
