I believe in eshta deva .... I.e it is for each individual to choose who he feels more connected to as the main deity.But it is crucially important to show respect to all ... To Vishnu , Devi, Devas , and Asuras. Monotheism offers a simplified model of the world , the beauty of Hinduism is that we have a choice . If you want just one "supreme" God then it's probably better that you follow a monotheistic religion. Besides these are petty Human emotions - and any and all Gods are surely above such Human requirements for hierarchy !!!
