Guest guest
1. Vedas ( Rig, Yajur, Sama) 2. Upanishads ( I think 18 upanishads) 3. The Bhagvad gita. 4. Puranas 5. Thirukkural, Thevaram, THirivasakam, Thirumandiram ( Saiva Siddhantha texts). 6. Dhivya Prabhandam (Vaishnavite text) I think 5 & 6 mostly used by the people of tamilnadu. Others are universal. Guest guest
sorry, I had all the intention of adding the great ithihaas, but something distracted me.
Guest guest
Some Guest has added Thirukural as Saivate Text, Its actually a vaishnava text. There are many verses in thirukural clearly denoting worship of krishna (or vishnu). Moreover, Hari-Vaayu Stuthi should also be added. Guest guest
Gokulji, Can you post here the Kurals denoting worship to Vishnu for the reference and benifit of all of us here. I have been told all along that, Tirukkural is a secular text. But I always did not believe this, as the very first chapter is about god :-)). And it also a hindu text, describing how a king shud behave, how a brahman shuold behave etc... and it supports the theory of Karma ( Oozhvinai). But if there are verses about Vishnu, that is the last nail in the coffin for the secularists. Expecting eagerly to see your post.
