Guest guest
Vedanta says " Both jivatma and paramatma are sat-cit-ananda vigraha " when jivatma comes in viscinity of maya , it falls down and cycles in wheel of birth an death . Salvation is to get out of this and to re-establish our true postition However it is also mentioned that real position of jivatma is vai-kuth -loka where we come under spell of Yogmaya and we relate god as our friend , lover etc . as moksha means to regain our orignal status of sat-cit-anand ( knoweledge bliss and happyness ) , how jivatma is said to be salvated as he is prone to forget again even in spiritual planets its real position and KNOWLEDGE . Having attained the knoweledge of self ( brah-jigyasa) and liberation, do we remember eternally our real position . Comments of both Maya-vadis and Vaishnavas are welcome! Guest guest
Jai Shree Krishna, I have repeatedly heard from Vaishnav acharyas that once we return to the spiritual planets we never forget again. The reason we fall originally is to explore the material world - since although we had full knowledge of the extent of suffering in material world, we had not experienced it. Thus, the temptation was always there, and some (approx 1/4) of souls accordingly fall. However, once we come back, we have full knowledge AND experience of the material world and so we never make the same mistake again. We just look at our time in the material dimension as a split-second nightmare. Interestingly, His Holiness Radhanath Swami has commented that actually, we are more fortunate to have fallen, since: 1) we will fully appreciate the spiritual worlds when returning and 2) there are constantly souls in the spiritual world who have yet to fall who may do so in the future (out of the fallible souls that is - obviously the infallible souls will never fall).
