There are many bogus gurus claiming to be God incarnate, and it seems that they and their followers believe there is some sort of scriptural basis for the concept of Guru being God manifest on earth. Guest guest Posted August 20, 2004 Report Share Posted August 20, 2004 here's how you find out if someone is a guru or not... if he says he is god, and there is no scriptural evidence, he is bogus... if he says he is servant of god, then he might be a guru... then one must check his parampara (disciplic succession) - is it in one of the four sampradayas?
