Guest guest
Well, since I had shared with you my experience at one of the Dubai temples and the story of the man who asked us to leave because "only for Hindu community"; let me share with you that we were back yesterday at Lord Krsna temple and we brought along a third person interested in hinduism. I was a bit gittery before walking up the stairs; then, we decided we would go since we wanted to pray. The temple was buzzing and as we entered, people from the temple looked at us. I felt dizzy. We stayed a bit and then slowly moved along. Nobody said anything to us, we took the fruit, and answered to the gentleman appropriately as our Hindu friend taught us and we slowly went out. The experience was good. It is true that, as the only non-Indians, we stand out of the crowd and feel slightly observed, but in a very kind way. Just to let you know that the experience was positive and that we will go back in good faith.

Guest guest
well im from Dubai too and to tell you the temple here is very small and is abuzz with a lot people coming from all over the country especiall on important and holy days. the attitude towards you by the man who asked you to leave would be definitely under pressure of a crowd in large numbers, when it is difficult to handle them. everyone is most welcome to our temples if they are coming with faith. i have seen a few non-indians often in and around temple area, but i would be glad if i see them inside and glorifying God. so see you soon again.. Jai Gurudev.
Guest guest
Thank you for your post. Well, we may well meet there then :-)), now I feel comfortable to go back; it won't be difficult for you to recognize me. Please, tell people from the temple that if a European climbs those stairs and actually prays, he/she really does pray and is not just pretending in order to look around. See you ! Guest guest
u r most welcome ... we r infact having weekly gatherings in Bur Dubai where we play audio cassettes of religious discourses as told by our Guru. This is a family gathering where u will learn abt hinduism without actually reading the holy books. because whatever our Guru says that is straight from the holy books. if interested let me know Jai Gurudev. Guest guest
Thank you for your reply. Yes, I would be. Is it in English ? May a European join ? May a lady join ? Who is your Guru, if I may ask ? I would be most grateful if I could learn more about hinduism. I would wish to ask questions to my yoga teacher, but at this stage, do not wish to "bother" him with mundane questions/issues and also, am still a bit shy. Please, kindly let me know re. the classes. Thank you.
Guest guest
yes u can come for the satsang (classes)..but everything is in our language Hindi. but we all are english speaking...so u can sk questions/doubts at the end as everyone does. of course a lady can join... our Guru is Swami Sudarshan Acharya. He belongs to Shri Sampradaya. His ashram is in Faridabad , which is on the outskirts of delhi (around one and half hour drive from delhi). im going for this satsang for along time now infact will complete three years in this week. when i look back at the three years ..my Guru has changed my life entirely. I have come to know the purpose of existence of our lives and how to live it without giving up your work, famil duties, social responsibilities. because our Guruji says you carry on with your routine day to day activities but Do not forget the almighty GOD (Lord Narayan) To us only our Guruji can help us stand in front of God and if possible even give us Moksha if we are so well deserving. in fact i would like to know where u go for your Yoga classes..? i would b interested to know. Thanks Jai Gurudev.
Guest guest
since I do not understand Hindi, I will have to pass. Furthermore, I hardly ask questions even to the yoga master; I do not know enough to actually be able to ask sensible questions. The fact that your Guru emphasizes how to live a “normal” life and be able to improve spiritually and remember God at all times is most appealing. From my different readings, I had started to wonder how we could possibly engage in any spiritual path and achieve anything since the requirements related to a secluded life are impossible to follow for most of us. Then, I read that the one ought not try intellectualizing and rationalizing spirituality but one is better off surrendering and I felt relieved. Our Yoga master’s name is Acharya Nelson. It is through his classes of Yoga that I got drawn to Hinduism and learning more about it while practicing Yoga for spiritual development (no proselytism on his part whatsoever)– I do not do yoga to get physical benefits and loose a few inches here and there, but to teach myself to remember God and surrender to him. I know our teacher would be able to answer my queries and maybe one day, I will start to talk to him about it. At this stage, I feel I am not ready to allow myself to do so, although I am sure he would be happy to clarify/guide. His personality is most pleasant and good-natured. Do you do yoga yourself ? Do you know this Yogi ?
Guest guest
no i havrnt heard of Acharya Nelson but definitely want to know him. i have not practised yoga till now. but does it really help you in your spiritual life... i mean i was under the impression that yoga is for physical reasons i.e to maintain your body and extend your life span. but if it is getting you more closer to God then id be interested in it. r the classes held in Dubai...? where do i look for some info. on it.? please let me know. coming to my Guruji's teachings.. He says that there are two ways of acheiving sprituality in the highest forms.. 1)Simran (which means chanting Lord's name all the time within ur mind) if ur cooking at home, driving, taking bath, doinf ur job in office, anything u do just have the Gods name humming all the time and at one stage it will automatically be going on continously within u . u dont have to even take effort to remember Gods name because at that stage God will always be with u . 2) Sharnagati( Total Surrender) Like my Guruji says when a woman gets married to a man she does not get money, rice, food with her when she goes to stay with her man. she has surrendered herself to her man and she knows he will feed her and take care of her all the time. same way we have to surrender ourselves to God. whatever sorrows, happy moments we have in our life it is all because of him. if He wants to keep us happy its His wish, if He wants to keep us sad its His wish. if you follow the above two rules u will be much better cause they r the easiest and proven methods to reach Him.
