Guest guest
Administrator cam you please write a summary of the truth found in long discussions in the begining of the thread to save our time in getting enlightened? Did Rama eat meat? I look into this thread and got confused by scholar looking views of foolish Satyaraja dasa. It was the page 4.. when Laksri, a junior member, cleared all doubts that mamsam could mean fleshy part of fruits also. and JN das firmly stating that nowhere in valmiki ramayan rama who ever took meat is written. For me it does not really matter whether he ate or not. but when i found foolish interpretation of people like Satyaraja, i go deep into these discussions. And it takes a lot of time. So please write a summary of the long discussion for our enlightenment
Guest guest
Don't the kshatriyas and sudras eat meat? Rama was a kshatriya, so I would think he would have eaten meat. I'm not sure about any of this, obviously, but that's what I thought. That the kshatriyas and sudras eat meat, while the brahmins and vaisyas don't. I think the reasoning is something like the kshatriyas and sudras have to work hard while the vaisyas are just businessmen and the brahmins don't eat meat because they teach about God being in all things; it would be hypocritical to then eat meat, I think.
