Krsna is the supreme form who is all attactive. Just because some ppl may like to chant to Krishna's name as prescribed thats ok. However if you like to chant Visnu or Rama's name that also is excellent. Everyone has a differnt bhajana and attracted to the form of the lord they attracted to. SO as prescribed u can chant Hare Krishna name knowing he the same personality as Visnu and in ur mind u may be meditating of Lord Narayana form asking him to engage u in service.

anyway better to chant some name of God then none

vishnu is still lord of all lords yet why do hare krishna deny this they have no evidence that vishnu is not the lord or all lords and they have no evidence that krishna is the lord of all lords. please stop smokin weed in the name of krishna

Several scriptures, specially Srimad Bhagvatam, (the spotless purana) Canto 1, Chapter 1 is very clear on this. Krishna is the original person (avtaree) from whom the 3 kinds of Vishnu emnate. In another sense Vishnu, Krishna, Ram are the same. Krishan also displays the most loving relationships or mellows (rasas).

Hare Krishna

Vishnu and Krishna are one and the same person, get it...

Now if you want to chant Lord Vishnu's name then "Om namo Narayana" or many others are prescribed but manufacturing mantras is not proper and a sign of jumping the scriptures. By the way Krishna and Rama are also Vishnu's Names -- ever heard of Vishnu sahasranama.

As for Lord Krishna being the Original Personality or Original Form (one may say the Original Vishnu), this conclusion is presented in Srimad-Bhagavatam.
