Hi, We have just had a new member in our family.. A boy.

I want his name to be synonymous with Krishna. Please suggest me some names.

I have heard that one must not keep one's child's name synonymous to Krishna, because there was, is and will be just one and only one Kirshna. is it true??

But please do suggest me some names.

Hare Krishna,

Congratulation !

You may name him MOHAN.

Well we in India prefer to have the Lord's name/s. It is common to hear boys with Lord Krishna's name.

My (late) father was named Damodar; his father was Hari and his father was Gopal - all synm of Krishna.

Hari Bol.

lot's of devotees name there son nimai or nitai but you can call him also balarama or baladeva or rama or gaurahari or nityananda and there are many other names look for them in books like caitanya caritamrita. you can always add dasa to the name meaning servant of.

Coincidentally, I was watching the news a few days ago and the newscaster was introduced as "Krishna". I don't know if using His name is or isn't appropriate. But, I thought "that's wonderful at least every karmi that meets this man will have the opportunity to have Krishna dance on his/her tongue." It also reminded me that I should turn off the t.v. and read the Bhagavad-Gita!
