Dry skin, food, rashes

Currently, I am experiencing a rash of dry skin as well. It seems to have a lot

to do with what I am eating, toxins being released (weight loss) /allergies, and

stress levels. I wasn't sure if it might not also be related to excess energy

trying to leave my head since it is affecting all of the orifices (eyes, ears,

nose, and mouth)and also accompanied with pressure in my head. It starts off as

hot, tingling and inflamed, it gets itchy and more swollen, and then, when it

settles down, it gets scaly and flakes away. Right now, this is the worst

around my eyes. Sometimes my eyes will get these little bumps that are not

exactly pimples. Sometimes my eyes will start tingling before the rash, and I

know I need to be careful with what I eat and/or that I need rest. So much

seems to trigger it: when there is a lot of pollen and / or mold in the air,

Candida, mold or yeast in foods (aged or blue cheeses, beer, Champagne), too

much sulfur—as in what they use to protect our salad bar at work, weight loss,

pollution—especially when I am driving a lot in traffic-packed SoCal, too much

chocolate and espresso and/or green tea (all drying to the body and taxing to

the adrenals). Because my rash seemed to be food, toxin, and stress related, my

acupuncturist suggested that it may be viral (like herpes). This rash can come

on overnight and then be clear the next day, or it can linger for months. The

last bout seemed to be cleared up by psyllium with grapefruit seed extract in

water at night and chewable acidophilus during the day. Another time drinking

copious amounts of water and aloe vera juice (once again, with psyllium to

absorb and whisk away toxins) is what I needed.

One thing that I am currently trying to do is `asking' food whether it is good

for me to ingest it or not before I eat it. I do this silently by placing my

hands first around something neutral or good for me to ingest (water) and feel

its energy. I then place my hands around or hold the questionable food and

sense whether its energy makes me feel good or not. If it isn't good for me, I

might get twinges in my kidneys or along my back, or my hands and arms may start

to get numb and/or achy. It is very subtle and my mind has to be quiet, but it

is funny how `loudly' my body protests to certain foods. I mention this because

foods that may seem good for you may not agree with your system right now. I am

gifting a huge bag of beautiful organic honey tangerines that I just bought due

to shakti saying, " not right now " .

I also have the `pimples' on my neck that aren't pimples. These don't seem to

have the heat associated with them like the above. They are in the area around

my jugular on my left side. Last night, I experimented with a pineal meditation

as I was going to bed and my head started moving very fast in the form of a

figure eight, so I stopped the meditation. I then dreamed that I had mosquitoes

buzzing around and sometimes landing on my neck there and biting me. I had also

watched Chrism's Kundalini and Animal Teachers videos last night, as this is how

I am often given messages. Does this dream mean that the current rash on my

neck has to do with outside parasitic energies? Come to think of it, I also

dreamt about work afterwards. I guess it was a mild stress dream. Coworkers,

disorganization, and inefficiency were annoying me. I then I witnessed how my

annoyance only amplified and escalated the situation—made it more stressful than

it needed to be. Perhaps work is the mosquito and I need to work on controlling

my annoyance.

I have always had health issues manifest themselves through my skin. As a

child, I was allergic to most foods and would get horrible hives up and down my

legs. When I was in my 20's and going through all the stresses associated with

that, I would get eczema-like rashes on my hands, neck, and around my eyes. I

used to say, " Men (pointing to my hands), morals (pointing to my neck), money

(pointing to my eyes). " It was at this time I used Bag Balm, but I stopped

because it wasn't working for me (it seemed harsh for my overly sensitive system

and it has petroleum in it). I now try to use mostly product I would eat on the

largest organ in my body. I use coconut oil in the winter or on cracked, very

dry skin. It seems like it will be greasy, but it absorbs very quickly. I can

use this everywhere without it clogging pores except for my face. I do put a

little on lips and on my eye rashes. After rubbing it on my body, I will pet

the ends of my hair which keeps it healthy-looking. I use a mild organic olive

oil on my skin all the rest of the time. It breathes better than the coconut

which is heavier. I use this as my eye-makeup remover now instead of the

expensive designer products I used to use. I still feel like I need a specially

prepared facial moisturizer. MoonMaid Botanicals produces fabulous, natural,

organic products. I also feel like their Calendula Cream (olive oil base) is

very protective at work which is very rough on my hands.

I acknowledge and accept that my skin is a barometer of changes that are

occurring, or that need to occur, with me. It has been a while since I thought

of my old " men, morals, money " saying. May be shakti is telling me that it is

time that I stopped putting off doing my taxes for the past couple of years! :))

Sending soothing love (like a salve),

Nina
