All:

This may sound trivial, but I could use some guidance...and I'm wondering if

this is about something more than what I'm realizing.

There is a tomcat that roams my yard; he is a bother in that he howls in the

middle of the night, poops in my yard, and sprays my stuff. He is messing up my

newly planted garden. And my garden, well is like my sactuary. I'm like a

" crazy " woman stalking this cat late at night. It's disrupting my beauty sleep!

But seriously, I don't want the cat pooping in my garden and spraying my stuff.

In my sleep I had thought about the cayenne pepper I ate one day. I am thinking

that such can be a deterant. Do you know if this is the case? Does anyone know

what I can use to scat this cat. My dog just perks her ears. Don't bother

hanging tight for any wild chase scene because that just is not going to happen.

Can I use essential oils? What can I do to scat this cat, rather than be

crouching on my patio lat at night, waiting to pounce and wave my arms. (I think

this just makes him laugh at me.) It needs to be safe for my dog and I don't

want any chemicles leaching into the ground. I would prefer not to purchase

anything over the counter unless it was all natural. I know that there are sound

devices and automatic sprinklers etc...I'm just looking for something simple and

at minimal cost. I have asked him to leave, but since he visits that much more.

I have not asked him to stay, as such a welcome would be false and not truthful.

Maybe we should have a KAS Dear Lasha column.

Thanks.

dear Danielle

Just a reply for the practical aspect.

I had an issue with a wayward Tom Kitty, very hyped on inner

Tom juice. He would come to my house and terrorize my neutered kitys.

They

lived in door but he would stalk and cat-a-wail through the glass doors

and windows.

Became concerned he would break the glass for he would hit it so hard in

his pursuit.

When we would walk outside he would try to attack.

All of that came to the close with a glass full of water with added

vinegar.

Cats truly dislike the smell of vinegar. When he attempted attack

i splashed him.

I wonder if you spayed your plants with

vinegar water for a few nights if that might end the romance?

love for you and wayward Tom

Danielle,

You may want to see if there is a local no-kill shelter that can come catch him.

They will get him fixed, give him shots, and try to find a home for him. Also,

there are some organizations that fix feral cats, give them their shots, and

then rerelease them - if you can find such an organization, you might ask them

to rerelease him elsewhere....

Love,

Yes, I know of such through my vet clinic. That seems way too easy! After all

this is not how I approach things in my life. I have to try to do everything

myself first, and then ask for assistance only after I've proven to myself that

I cannot tackle it on my own and absolutely have to turn to another.

(hmmm...there hides the deeper teaching and learning to scatting this cat.)

Maybe he is Senior Don Gato! Meow Meow Meow.

....looks like I have more stuffing to unstuff.

Thank you, David.

Love and thank you.

found this ...all about cars- orange peels perhaps in the yard??

Effective Homemade Cat Repellent

1. Cats use urine to mark territorial ownership. Once a stray cat has used

your garden or yard as a litter box, she will consider your territory hers. This

means the cat will be more likely to use your car as her bed. While this creates

a nuisance for you, the cat means no harm. No cat can comprehend how the human

territorial system works. As long as stray cats feel safe and comfortable in

your yard you will have to contend with stray cat nuisances.

Effective homemade cat repellents will prevent stray cats from feeling

safe and comfortable in your territory. Cats do not like water or citrus smells.

A simple homemade cat repellent is to make your car smell like citrus. Hang a

citrus-scented air freshener from your car mirror. Cats have a strong enough

sense of smell to detect the air freshener from outside the car. Another way to

make your car smell like citrus is to use citrus scented cleaners to clean your

car.

Having a dog will protect you from stray cat nuisances, too. In the animal

kingdom your territory is the dog's territory. Stray cats will avoid your

territory in order to avoid making enemies.

The Don'ts of Homemade Cat Repellent

2. There are certain materials you should not use for homemade cat repellent,

including cayenne pepper and mothballs. Some herbs, such as eucalyptus and

lavender, can be used to successfully repel stray cats without harming the

animal. Cayenne pepper is not one of these herbs. Cayenne pepper can be very

dangerous if the cat gets the repellent in its eyes.

Mothballs are poison and not meant for outdoor use. The last thing you

want is for a neighborhood child to accidentally get exposed to the poison you

were using as homemade cat repellent.

Citrus seems to reign supreme and coffee grounds - and your lavender -

Try them all - hope this helps.

I use coffee grounds (used) and tea grounds (used). It works very well to keep

the critters out of my garden.

How to Stop Cats from Eating Plants

You may be wondering how to stop cats from eating plants. Again, there are no

absolutes, but there are a few things you can try. Cats hate getting wet.

Therefore, when you catch cats nibbling on your garden plants, you could try

spraying them down with a garden hose or water gun to reinforce the fact that

they are unwanted near your plants.

Alternatively, you can choose to incorporate plants that cats do not find

attractive or tasty and are known to avoid. For instance, some plants emit odors

that cats find offensive, such as the scaredy-cat plant (Coleus canina). Other

plants often recommended for keeping cats away include rue, lavender, rosemary,

and pennyroyal.

Then again, you could also appeal to their taste buds by planting catnip in

areas outside the garden in which they're welcome.

Keep Cats Out of Yard

To keep cats out of yards, you can try sprinkling offensive substances around

the area such as cayenne pepper flakes or ammonia. These repellents can be

sprayed around the perimeter as well. Citrus sprays seem to work well too.

Be careful with vinegar on your plants, my Dad uses vinegar and soap as a

weed killer.

Thank you Carla! for this important information. So sorry Danielle after

checking on the web found the below answer to use of Vinegar and water mixture

directly on plants. Truly is risky to use on plants. Thank you Carla. . . .

" wWhat effects does vinegar and water have on plants respectively? Why does

vinegar preserve life better than water?? this is from a result of my

experiment.

-Chansey

A: Chansey -

I'd be willing to bet that if you tried your experiment a few more times, you'd

find that vinegar is good for some types of plants and bad for others. The

reason for this actually has to do with the soil, not the water. Different types

of plants do best at different soil pH's. Soil pH tells you how much acid there

is in the soil. The more acid there is, the lower the pH will be. Since vinegar

contains a lot of acid, adding vinegar will lower the soil pH.

So if the plant's ideal pH is less than what the soil currently has, adding

vinegar will probably do it a lot of good. In particular, if the dirt you're

using contains a lot of limestone (a fairly common problem for farmers), the pH

will normally be very high (not much acid). This is good for some plants, but

bad for others. It is especially bad for blueberries, which will only grow well

if the soil has a very low pH. This makes it very hard to grow blueberries in

locations with a lot of limestone. But if the plant's ideal pH is higher than

where the soil currently is, adding vinegar would not be a good idea. "

Thank you Carla! That would do more than scat a cat. Plus with the nearby dairy

smells that linger, I think that combination would be more than I could stomach.

I appreciate the tip.

I had to come back and speak to my terrible suggestion of spraying a

vinegar water mixture on your plants. Om My! I am so so sorry. As

much as you love your garden, and if you little babies, the little

melons would of withered i do not even have words for how terrible that

would be. So Sorry Danielle.

Oh beautiful Sparrow, you cannot sing when your head is hanging in shame. Tilt

that chin up to the sky, precious, gentle soul. There is absolutely no need to

be so hard on yourself.

I'm not a big vinegar fan and so this would have been my last resort...plus the

soil here is very alkaline. Some flowers thrive on vinegar as an additive.

Love to you, and I appreciate the guidance.

No worries sparrow... please...

I just wanted to say that I appreciate this thread; as trying to be

respectful to our nurturing mother earth is important to me. I love the

Namaste

dear Monique

Ahh. . . truly did not intend to bring forth confusion.

Yesterday morning i read the email from Danielle and related an

experience with Morley ( the Tom Cat) that i sprayed with water and

vinegar.

After reading your reply this morning went back and re-read Danielle's

email. Oh My, 'my brain', realized on re-read it was not the Tom Cat

that was crouching on the patio to attach but it was our dear Danielle.

lol!

My sharing with Danielle was trying to address the aggressive behavior

issue. Then i mindlessly suggested vinegar water might work on the

ground area as a deterrent. The later is not a good suggestion for it

can alter the ph in the soil and for some soils this can create too much

acidity for plants to grow and thrive. Not a good suggestion!

Monique i will give a bit of information about little furball neighbor

Morley:) He would violently attack my husband and myself as we

attempted to walk out the door. He would sit outside the glass door and

wait for one of my kitty cats to come into sight and then he would throw

himself with extreme force into hard glass door. I became very

concerned for both him and the door. This act seemed to just enrage him

more. He would run and jump on the window screens and wail as he

destroyed screens. Dear Morley believed the entire neighborhood was

his territory and that was okay with me, but his ways where not my ways

when it came to peaceful relations.

As Donald Duck use to say; " This was war. " and i really never

approached the issue back then as spiritual surrender, but K Ma has

cleaned me up a wee bit since that time(?)

I have great acceptance that " Tom Cats do what Tom Cats need to do " How

would we know the first signs of Spring without Cat-a-Wailings and

Robins rushing around on the ground pulling out earthworms? " And this

too, And this too, and for those like dear Morley, " And that too. " :)

Monique if Morley had not been violent i would of readily accepted his

TomCat-a-Wailing. I love Mother Nature and all animals, in truth would

of never survived this life without the great healing, love and

interconnection with Nature and Creatures. In truth Mother Nature and

all her children are my Most Holy Scriptures and expression of Sacred

Divine. So sorry for my ineptness of communication that must of seemed

cruel and non-surrendering to you dear Monique.

If Morley came visiting again this day with the same behavior, would

once again splash him with water and vinegar. For me the issue fits

more into acceptance and non-acceptance of destructive behavior rather

than surrender or non-surrender. My soul is at peace with splashing

dear Morley with vinegar and water. I can readily hold Morley with love

with all his bad boy ways, while at the same time feel peace and

rightness for setting healthy boundaries for him into my small world.

My vinegar splash was cat language Morley could understand. In his Tom

Cat ways he understood marking with pungent odor. I too can embrace my

own territorial and self preservative instinct and my pungent spray of

apple cider vinegar and water was a shared common language.

I think of Brother Roger often. He was the beautiful Saint from Italy

that has brought back the beautiful Taize music and used music as a way

to promote peace in the world. Truly a most beautiful soul. He was in

a Taize service and a woman came forth with a knife and repeatably

stabbed him to death. It was reported that Brother Roger did not even

move his hands to fend off the attack. I have so often thought of that

kind of acceptance. Then i think of Gandhi and his wonderful

non-violence teachings. Gandhi says we are not to be aggressors but it

we are attacked we are to protect ourselves. I aspire to resonate with

Gandhi but truly am not any where near Brother Roger in the depth of

spiritual surrender that could accept a complete stance of being

non-protective in the face of violence.

Thank you Monique for helping me to see the misunderstanding about who

was crouching for attack for that really does clarify an important

difference between times to and other times to create safety for limb

and vine. Sincerly Thank you. And so glad i got to see the image of

Danielle as " Crouching Tiger/Hidden Dragon. "

Since November have been in a place with intense energy with K Ma and

the energy work i am involved with. The wrapping is very strong,

painful and intense in the front and mid-section of the brain. I am

deeply connected to the Earth energies and as the shifts in the

earthquake occurs i experience the plates and mush in my own head being

rearranged, very much in sync with Mother Earth. Through the years of

weaving has shown the synchronicity with Mother Earth. There is a

heightened acceptance that all of us moving through the K Ma Awakening

are deeply connected to Earth and Sky, Sun and Moon to the One that is

giving birth to us all. This time period had been one of the most

painful and difficult in years for me. Right after the severe

earthquakes i could hardly speak a sentence and get the words arranged

properly, such an experience of brain fog and depersonalization. The

fog is beginning to lift but i am still experiencing evidence that i

am still not expressing or receiving with clarity. So sorry for the

things and ways i express that might bring forth confusion for some.

I also read your second issue about your challenge with cats. Monique

would you feel comfortable writting out a free word association

concerning cats? Just write out a list of words that come forth when

you hear the word " CAT " .

Truly Cats are wonderful creatures not bad for me. Luna my kitty has

been my constant companion. I could

write pages about the love and gratitude i have for her. And just last

week she snipped the second set of noice reducing headphones. The

first new set lasted one day and the second set lasted 4 days. The

first time i thought it was funny when the noise went off and i looked

up and there sat Luna with one half of the cord still in her mouth

looking at me. The second time it was not so funny. :( If her food

bowl starts to get empty she goes after my cords. And like Danielle am

trying to solve that one in a negotiating manner. At present she has

found the solution, Keep the Cat Food Bowl FULL and ignore the vet that

says she is too fat.

love and peace in all things for you dear Monique

Hi Danielle,

So you have a cute loud wild visitor at night? Hmmmm... maybe a sign of good

things to come (;

What I have noticed in my life is that everything and I do mean everything that

comes into my life - my experience is like a mirror of the inside. For example

for many years I had a hard time with this one person. She was quite mean to me

(oh ... poor me right!ha) Well to be honest she was quite mean to most people.

Anyway being the overly sensitive person I can be I took her comments quite

hard. How could someone be so mean why does she do this; every time I heard her

say something cruel to others it would make me angry - thoughts of why can't she

just be kind to others why won't she leave me alone - i do everything i can to

avoid her and yet it seems there she shows up again - this function or that. I

didn't want to go to these things because she was there - I knew she would be

whispering and talking about everyone behind their backs ... I knew she would be

doing that to me too. Anyway the more I resisted her - the more I tried to get

her OUT of my life - the more I focused on her " meanness " the more I got.

I would be nice to her and yet it didn't matter. So after awhile I started

thinking about all people in general. No one is all good or all bad. Duality.

There is that something inside us all - more beautiful than the stars. And then

I was thinking - that sometimes she was nice and fun although. So what part am I

having in this? You know why is she always giving me her nasty side?

So at night when I lay down to sleep is when I feel love and appreciation for

all those things in this world and beyond. I decided to start feeling so for

her. I realized that she must feel intense pain inside to be like this towards

others. Now at first I could not think of her and feel authentic love - pure

appreciation for her completely. As soon as she popped into my mind I would

tense up you know?

So I would lay there and feel love and appreciation for all those things that

come easy to me. And that feeling of purity I guess would expand and expand and

I could include more and more - and when I was at the point of just feeling love

for the whole for God and all - for there is not one thing that God is not or is

not in (however you view it)

then I could easier feel this for her. Knowing the divinity in her is just as

real as the divinity in the flower. So I would do this feel much love and

appreciation for her. I was not trying to get rid of her (although I admit it

started out this way) but in time without any resisting her being in any way I

was able to feel this - and I had my lessons - she would come back into my life

and I would hear her say this or that to someone or me - and it took some time

before I could stand before her and know that this is not who she really is -

this is her pain - i could love her not out of pity but out of all the trials we

all go through here in life.

And as time went by - she began being nice to me. She began showing me that side

of herself - the fun side the lighter side. Now if I wrote this post to you and

told you the things that went on - the story - the mean things - the even cruel

things said to kids - my point being it was quite difficult to feel this for

her. As time went on I rarely saw her and I still rarely see her. But she does

things that blow my mind now. She sends me a note

on holidays and such wishing me well. When she sees me she gives me a hug.

People joke to me wondering if I paid her off or something.

So maybe you could try something like this with your cat. At first it seems like

you are wanting to get rid of the cat. In time that will change - to whatever

Shakti brings you it matters not you accept- no resisting anything or it seems

in my experience to get bigger -

Another trick is to pretend that its your best friend playing with you. And in a

way it is. Shakti often takes the animals and (perhaps their egos are not as

hard to get through ha)

and uses them for us. So imagine its your best friend out there - imagine them

playing in your yard - imagine them teasing you while you are sleeping making

all sorts of noise and messing up your yard. Its like a little way - actually a

gentle way - of Shakti giving you the opportunity to work through something in

an easier way because when its people that can be cruel or whatever - it gets a

bit harder to love - to surrender to whatever she brings - but the truth is

these things will come up and its good for you to get your feet wet - because as

you do so with the cat and watch how the circumstances change in your life - you

will eventually be able to stand tall and strong - the world could be going

nuts and you will be able to know and feel the complete grace that you are - the

complete grace that runs through your being and allow this divinity to be the

one that you have merged with in all these situations - and this is what will

help all those around you. Its always the divinity. There will be other things

that come up and if you can give this a try and see how it works out for you -

then you will always be able to draw on this experience like I can now do with

the person that was giving me a hard time. Not btw that its always immediate ha

no - but in time I now know how to get there - even when it seems impossible -

just have to keep reminding myself.

You can pretend its out there making a lot of noise pretending he's a

cat. ha When you roll over - laugh at that thought of him out there playing

trying to spook you or annoy you - pretend hes teasing you. So when you awaken

laugh about it - feel how great it is that he is having all that fun - laugh

that he is trying to make you afraid or annoyed - but

you know now its all a game. So roll over - put some headphones on if you want -

not in resistance but in laughter - let him have his fun but you are going to

sleep happily knowing that that cat out there is playing playing playing.

Eventually when these things come up we can get to that point where there is no

need to feel we have to DO anything. Its that same peace inside when you are in

mediation. Because its always divinity so when something happens we won't have

to give it any energy

for it won't cause anything but a moment of dancing this way or that.

And me I usually slam into many trees, actually the same one over and over and

over until finally I can do what I wrote in whatever situation but it takes me

soooooooooo much knocking myself around until getting to that point - so my

stuff comes up and up - I know how to work through it but sometimes I just

cannot - so no worries if this doesnt do anything for you - the next full moon i

know i will be in it - I'll reread this and want to strangle myself for the

bunch of words that are not taking away my pain! ha So first thing is never feel

bad about yourself if you cannot " Feel " love for the situation - first always to

accept ourselves and love ourselves even when we are not feeling loving. Then

we'll easier be able to stand in the storm and when these annoyances and

emotions and fears come

- the real will be to stand there and see them and let them pass - there is no

energy we have to do or send - they will be like the wind. Perhaps you can

already do try that now - look at it and allow whatever to be be - things will

always get better - but if not (usually i don't jump to this spot right away)

laugh at in his cat costume - he got your attention didn't he? - and

maybe that cat that we think is doing harm is doing something bigger here?

Sending you some sweet love - and btw Danielle who wouldnt want to be around you

- your heart is beautiful -

And also Danielle do what feels right to you - mentioning this because this has

helped me and maybe its worth a try - you'll know inside whats good for you when

you go into your meditation and try these suggestions on - shakti will let you

know for all you need is what is already there - (remind me of this soon i'll be

needing a sweet reminder or a gentle kick or maybe a big one - will let you

know!)

The other night I saw a raccoon, a possum, a skunk, and a rabbit all together

just feet from each other doing their thing - all calm and beautiful and

peaceful. This is the second time I've seen this - made me feel really good -

don't know why i feel like telling you that but i liked it (:

Shoot I just thought of something....if you still want to spray vinegar now at

that cat - i think i ruined it for you - maybe chrism doesn't mind a little

vinegar ? He can use it on his salad? ha

lots of sweet sweet love Danielle!

dear Mia

Just a quick note to take responsibility. It was not Danielle that ever desired

or considered to spray the Tom Cat with Vinegar/Water mixture, that was my

suggestion as i attempted to share my experience.

You have a beautiful soul expression Mia and i bow with honor to all that you

are.

A heartfelt Namaste to you at all levels.

Hi our dear Sparrow,

I have missed you much! I hope you were taking some beautiful time out for

yourself! I'm sorry I did not read all the posts and I didn't see the one with

the vinegar just the mention of it. If it came from you I know it was exactly

what was needed for you have given me exactly what I needed time and time again.

Love you so Sparrow! And you know what? I remember a time when you spoke of that

woman who went around the world giving hugs and love to others. I finally saw

her on video and indeed the love that comes from her is immense. So thank you

for that - it was a beautiful sight to see and she was so light-hearted and

loving like a sweet mother just hugging one person after another.

I was amazed how such a simple thing was so powerful!

Thank you for your kind words - i think i'm glowing ...

Giving you a squeeze - a sweet one! I just ate an orange - so its a citrus

squeeze (:

yeah...i'm kinda a goof

Dear Sparrow

Now worries¡KI think we are all learning and helping each other somehow!

I understand what you said! I understand ! I made the question innocently

because I experienced many furious cats trying to attack me but those are K

tests so when you speak about defending from them by attacking with vinegar I

get bit lost on the subject! So I said to myself¡Kohh good idea..ohh but

surrender?.!

I never feared cats or so. I know they are good and cute¡KI love animals. These

ones I speak about are holographic ones¡Kappear,,dissapear..some of them very

very violent and aggressive.! I think Deb guided me in love and hope and trust

about it..she had similar experiences. Lets see now how I do about it. For the

last year all the cats I find are these type so It has been difficult to

say¡Kohh yes cats=cute and good ..to be honest those are not cute at all ¡Kthey

are just what they are..violent cats.

I can also understand how hard this experience has been for you. I also had this

strong pain on my head and strong flows of light in my brain.

We do just our best in the light of knowledge and wisdom given by God!

Blessings

My name is Monica ..I think there is other Monique around here
