Hi Chrism,

Did you forget to leave a link? I would love to provide my own

observations and thoughts. This could be a positive connection between

opposing belief systems. Love and Light bob

Phooey! I made some mistakes...wish I could edit it! I added something

on using a folding silver car window screen as a solar oven. Hope you

can get the idea even with mistakes and so basic. I didn't say that the

bag with contents is placed AT the bottom of the funnel you make with

the screen. Doh!

Oh well...

I really like this idea - for those of us who are city folks it will

help with the learning - thank you and please take some time and share

your skills - I am not sure I have any survival skills to share always

felt that if I had to my self would conjure up alot of info that could

be used - I mean I am a basket weaver, have done leather work, macrame,

have carved wood , worked with clay , hand sewing crafts, and with my

reading of many books i have a good understanding of things - all of

which i feel would be useful, but to call them survival skills - well -

not sure ...and my biggest skill - i love physics and can usually

figure things out - now if i can figure out how to keep bugs off me and

from biting - any suggestions on a natural bug repellent other than

mud -

thanks

Nothing I have found works. Citronella is next to useless. I tried a

Hawaiian formula that I like the smell and feel of, but apparently so do

mosquitos :-( ... I am a bug buffet and allergic to mosquitos AND deet

(sigh). Mostly I just stay indoors, especially in the evening. There are

mosquito net suits one can buy, looks silly but heck, if it works ...

seriously thinking about trying it. I saw a head cover at a dollar store,

but I never get bit on the head (laugh).

I meant to reply to this post. Eating garlic helps keep them away from

you. Also, do not eat bananas during mosquitoe season. For some reason

they love it when people eat bananas. The only other thing I know is to

stay moving and keep your arms moving around youself a lot. LOL!

not necessarily mixed together; haven't tried the sss. i think paula has the right idea with the b1. there is a similar smell with the brewers yeast and b1. i am not bitten. when i go out; i don't wear any type of fragrance. i think they are attracted to smells, either internal or external.....growing up in louisiana you learn alot about bugs...........have to, and fire ants, and poison ivy and snakes........to name a few

ants hate chilli! if its nest is in your areas, chilli makes them run,

a weird thing i've noticed about ants, one day in the year the female

ones with wings all, come out im a swarm up in a spiral and leave!

wonder what earth force is guiding them, and what their up to..

on the list many of you are observing flies , i watch ants!

the ivy, eat a piece of the young fresh leave in spring , but only

spring!!! and you will be safe from it all season..

we dont have snakes...

I think they must have cousins in Canada (laugh) ...

vitimin b1, something to do with hating the

smell!

Hmm ... is there a lot of B1 in brewer's yeast I wonder? I have this

nifty little DIY pill-maker kit that I use to make my own capsules so I

know how I could get it in me <g> ... provided my tummy can take

it. It's worth a shot though. I am so tired of holing up in my house all

summer ...
