Guest guest
The talk has gotten me thinking. For as long as mankind has been here there seems to have been a constant yearning for a different, and sometimes higher state of being. The search for the ways and means to transcend ourselves is pretty much the story of human history. I wonder what the aura of a flagellent would look like. Or the whirling dervishes who dance themselves into a religious frenzy. Monks who expose themselves to deadly weather in the himalayas. Or the ones through the ages who take fasting to unheard of limits. Or the dancing mania of the 14th century, dancing in the streets, speaking in tongues and foaming at the mouth. I could keep going for a long time here and I'm sure you catch my drift. Google " the day of saint anthony's fire " a whole village went right off the deep end with many religious aspects. And if I recall it was in the 1950's. Turned out to be ergot poisoning, a wheat fungus much like lsd. Read William James " Varieties of religious experience. " The common theme I take out of all of this, is we actively attempt to change our basic body chemistry. Fasting, for example obviously changes the body chemistry. Here's another, google reduced caloric intake. Thats where I ended up. I drink tons of well water and eat one meal a day usually high protein. The interesting thing I found was that if the body doesn't have a huge supply of food it starts to eat itself. But and this is a very big but, it starts with malformed cells, and anything that poses a threat to it. Old cells are consumed, weak sickly cells are consumed, cancer cells are consumed. It's very simple to prove that the brain can change body functions. A simple experiment is to concentrate on your hand and if you are holding a thermometer you can watch the temperature increase. This is the basis of my own energy works, where you aim concentration, energy follows. I mean, after all, everyone knows you can control your breathing with attention and thought. Blood pressure as well. The beauty here is that when you stop being totally focused on breathing you still continue to breath. But you can establish a new pattern and that becomes the default. K is interesting, in that it is cross cultural, it has a lifetime counted in ages. It's a road map for changing your body chemistry. We're stuck with language to share or explain what is going on and language is so imprecise. I can speak more truth in a breath in the forest than I can using these words. My lsd episodes were life changing, each and every time though I had a purpose and a direction. I think that's the difference not recreational, but instead s direction towards transcendence. You use the tools you have. I have never written about where i went, I expect I never will. Was it valid, oh yeah, it was a giant leap on my own path. It's most likely why I am here. I don't have the words to describe it, it was profound. And it mimics every aspect of what we think K is. One quick aside, talking about Shiva and Shakti... red and blue, Since my big entrence I have purple with me. It's always behind me and up above and just out of sight. I think I've already been there
