Best Wishes - John. All the synthetic sugar substitutes like Sacharin, Aspartame etc. are bad for health. Aspartame (Sugar free, Nutra Sweet etc. are trade names) can damage vision. This substance is a neuro-toxin and was developed as an ant repellent. I have heard the sugar substitute Stevia Root is a herbal product and harmless.
