Question about Praying for the dead

I have always prayed for the dead in the newspaper and don't laugh...but also

for any dead animals on the road. Does this help them at all....especially if

it has been days after? What about the animals? I just feel that the animals

have no one to pray for them. I don't usually share that with people so you

should all feel special and close to me...do you feel special yet?!?!

Love to you all!

OMG, Scott!! I'm so glad you said that about praying for dead animals in the

road!! I do that, too!! I do believe that animals go to an afterlife, too, and

I always imagine the poor dead creature now being in a beautiful field running

free playing with other animal spirits.

Thanks for sharing that, I feel special and close with you, LOL!!

Love,

Claudia

Hi all....

I just wanted to add my point about this topic....in the hindhu belief

praying for the dead is considered very very important....when any

person dies....many rituals are performed for 10 days after the death

with lots of prayers and many rituals that would help the soul in the

other world journery.......also it is belived that lots and lots of

" Dhana " ....(giving donations)....is done in the name of the

dead.....it is belived that what prayers and donations are given here

by us reaches the dead in the other world as food for them.....so if

we dont do anything for them...they shall not have food in the other

world.......

the dead are called as the " Pitru's " .....who first reach the pitru loka...

I also pray for animals, living and dead. I don't think it hurts

them and it might help.

Hi Claudia,

I am glad I am not alone in this! I really like your thoughts on running free

and playing with other animal spirits! I believe in reincarnation and that if

you were a dog in the one life you might become a human in the next. So I

always hope that my prayer will help them get to a better life. I always ask

for God to save their souls and lift them up to a better life next time. Even

if my prayers don't help it makes me feel better!!

Love to you! Thanks for sharing!!

Scott,

I read about animal spirits in the afterlife in one of the books I've read on

life after death over the years, don't remember which one. It talked about how

all animal spirits survive physical death, just as we do, and live together in

harmony in this beautiful place that human spirits can visit, too. It's a

lovely thought and I sure hope it turns out to be true.

Bradly, glad you're praying for the unfortunates by the side of the road, too!

Love,

Claudia

Dear Scott,

Thats so sweet, I think it's just lovely that you prey

for the dead animals, every prayer is heard and felt,

sending loving intention outwards is a beautiful and

nessecary thing for all beings to do.

What a lovely idea, I will remember that one.

I always bless mosquito's when I kill them, I wish

that their tiny souls go to the higher realms.... I

always felt like it was a positive thing to do.

Every little helps.

Lots of love and yes and I am feeling special knowing

you!!!

Now you make me feel special Elektra!! It's funny you brought up the skeeters

(mosquitos). I have been very good about not killing anything since joining

this group. But I feel skeeters have no value and one attack deserves another

with them. So I killed one yesterday and felt bad about it and wondered it it

could ever do anything good in it's short life to go to a higher realm. It's

nice you care about the skeeters too!

Love!

Thanks so much for sharing this! It is always good to hear what others do. I

believe that the dead can still see us and watch us and that the greatest

blessing to them is to let them know they are thought of and loved!

Love!

So you don't think animal spirits and human spirits are made up of

the same " fabric " ?
