Guest guest
I have just purchased a Bee swarm. This is a small one of about three pounds of bees with her holyness - the Queen. I am setting them up behind the house in the back yard and encourage those of you who can to do so as well -
Guest guest
Chrism, I wish I could purchase a hive, but afraid I can't because I live in military housing. I would like to tell you though that I put the bees on my prayer list and after that two or three bees have shown up at my house. When ever I go outside they tend to want to follow me around, and they seem to choose me over others who might be with me. I find it fascinating that they are here. I don't know what type of bees they are, but they sure are chunky and they like me! Anyway, I will write to the appropriate authorities if you think that will help. What about Arnold? Anyway, I am so excited for the bees. Love, Katherine chrism <> wrote: I have just purchased a Bee swarm. This is a small one of about three pounds of bees with her holyness - the Queen. Guest guest
Then plant as many beautiful flowers and vegies, particularly " rosemary " as they like that very much. - Katherine Miller <katsam19 wrote: Chrism, I wish I could purchase a hive, but afraid I can't because I live in military housing. Guest guest
How does one buy bee's and how do you care for them? It does sound like a wonderful idea. lisa ---- chrism <> wrote: > I have just purchased a Bee swarm. This is a small one of about three > pounds of bees with her holyness - the Queen. Guest guest
It is quite amazing. They are friendly towards people if you don't make sudden moves. They have a very structured social society. Really far more complex than I thought though I am a minimalist. Contact the local farm supply or your local apiarist or beekeeper. There are clubs of people doing this. I will be meeting with the president of the local club here in Sonoma county. So I will let you know how this goes - pleiades69 wrote: How does one buy bee's and how do you care for them? Guest guest
Let me share an experience: in our house there is a window which cannot be opened and quite often I see a bee or bumblebee on it. I then take a towel to grab it and let it out. They used to get very nervous, hard to catch -- not anymore -- I think it must have to do with my newly acquired calmness.
