Guest guest
I don't go to church, mainly because I haven't found one where I feel I will learn what is real, not what one wants me to think is real and with no questions asked. Two of the three of my sisters go to church and are involved in many functions of the church. They both live by what the preacher says the Bible implies based on his own theories and interpretations and also what he thinks God wants us to do, nothing more nothing less! However, there is me! I don't get the same gratifications from the church like they do, I still hunger for a multitude answers to the many questions and when I have my own opinion/interpretation of the verses in the Bible I am looked at like " Gosh, I can't believe you are thinking that! " It is as if I am supposed to always believe what the preacher says without question! When I was younger, in my teens, I went to church every Sunday, went to functions, almost every single one of them whether it was every day of the week, twice a week, whatever! Then one day, the church split, the congregation split! The was a rumor that the preacher was having an affair with his secretary! I remember having a church meeting and there in the house of GOD, they put the preacher on trial in front of everyone! That was when I realized, that what is preached and taught isn't how they live, most of them anyway! I don't remember being involved much longer after that, most of the people literally left the church and they started their own! In my opinion, the way it was handled was wrong, but yet it was an ever lasting experience. About 8 years ago, my husband who is in the US Navy was stationed up in NC as a recruiter. We starting looking into the Churches to not only get ourselves back into it, but also introduce our children to it. In our search we found a large majority wanted you to provide them with a copy of your pay stub from work in order to be considered to be a member! I know when I was growing up, I remember my mom and dad always arguing about what denomination of religion was better, my mom being Methodist and my dad being Baptist. We ended up going to a Mormon Church and my parents still fought because the church's policy was to know all that goes on at home. That caused tension at home. So I don't know if my past experiences are a part of how I feel about the church or what! But my Bible states that when two or more people come together to learn and worship HIM, that is a church! So this group is in someways a " Church " . We discuss God, the Holy Ghost, and Jesus, and other forms of religion! I get more from you all than a church out side of here. Thank you! Guest guest
Whoops, hit the wrong button - Sorry, I totally agree with both of you Elektra and Sam. Mankind cannot know what God intends or wants - not truly. Instead, they use the supposed word of God as their foundation to advance themselves and their chosen religion, using the congregation to achieve their ends. This is my experience anyway, and is why I am searching for true spirituality from a genuine, personal perspective. I was never into going to church, but now I can see what a real " church " might be like, a collection of all kinds of people all striving to find God realisation and offer love and support to each other, without judgement of each others process. An open and loving enviroment to blossom within. I love you all dearly, Elektra x x x ________ To help you stay safe and secure online, we've developed the all new Security Centre. http://uk.security. Stay in the know. Pulse on the new .com.
