Hi Sue,

I think I have the exact recipe you are looking for :) It is a

favorite of my husband. His mother (born in 1920) got him hooked on

it. I added her 'notes'.

Genesis 2:15 The Lord God then took the man and settled him in the

garden of Eden, to cultivate and care for it.

Quick Butterscotch Frosting

1 cup brown sugar

3 Tbls shortening

2 Tbls butter

1/4 tsp salt

1/4 cup milk

1 1/2 cups sifted confectioner's sugar

Combine brown sugar, shortening, butter and salt in a sauce pan and

bring liquid to a boil, stirring constantly.

(Note: Just let melted shortenings boil. Don't let brown sugar

dissolve, or it will burn)

Add milk and cook over low heat 3 minutes.

Cool.

Add confectioner's sugar and beat until it is thick enough to spread.

(Note: I sometimes need to add more sugar to get it thick enough)
