Guest guest Posted August 29, 2006 Report Share Posted August 29, 2006 Lentil Vegetable Stew Source: 3ABN 3 c. water 1 c. lentil 1 med. potato, diced 1 carrot, thinly sliced 1 c. celery, sliced 1/2 c. onions, chopped 1 med. green pepper, diced 3/4 c. water 1 c. tomato sauce 2 tsp. chicken-style seasoning 1 tsp. garlic powder 1 tsp. basil 1. Sort lentils carefully and rinse in cold water. 2. Bring 3 cups water to a boil and add lentils. Let cook for 5 minutes before adding the other vegetables. 3. Pour 3/4 cup water in a medium saucepan and place a steamer basket in the saucepan with diced potatoes, sliced carrots, sliced celery, chopped onions and diced green peppers. Bring to a boil and steam for 10 minutes. 4. Add these steamed vegetables plus the water from steaming to lentils and stir well. Cook on low heat for 30 minutes. 5. Add the chicken-style seasoning, garlic powder, basil and tomato sauce.
