Guest guest
Hi Jacqueline, that was a great article. I think we all get a little anxious when our little ones won't eat. I have 3, the youngest being only 3 years old. I have learned in my 14 years as a parent that they really do eat when they are hungry. I have had a weight problem most of my life, even as a vegan. I rarely push my kids to eat. If they are not hungry I accept that. I know that when they are not growing they don't eat much. I remember when my 14 year old hit this stage and my pediatrician said to me it is amazing how little they can eat and still thrive. My middle child, now age 11, was a micropremie. she only weighed 1 lb 10.5 oz at birth. She didn't even hit the weight chart until she was over a year. It was very challenging to let her eat when she was hungry and not pupsh food on her. After my middle one was born she was in the hospital for 14 weeks. The nurses taught me a very valuable lesson. Often alarms would go off and all the parents would get worried. They told us, look at the child not the monitors. If they child looks ok she probably is. I know how hard it is when it seems like your child isn't eating but try not to worry. If your child is playing and active and seems healthy he or she most likely is. Keep healthy snacks around so that when he or she does want to eat you can be sure to have something that will satisfy both of you. Good luck and don't worry Carol
