Guest guest
Good afternoon, The last few months I have been working (volunteer basis) on a conference planning committee. Being a raw foodist I think makes me a little more sensitive to the preferences of people when planning the conference meals. The registration forms included a section for participants to indicate if they needed any special accommodations. I hoped people would use the opportunity to indicate any dietary issues. I didn't get ANY food related requests. Saturday at the lunch break FOUR people approached me and said, what no vegetarian options? I had arranged for one vegan meal (mine) with the catering service. I gave mine to the first participant who asked, but the other three I had to tell them it was already taken. If they had only indicated the accomodation, I would have had options for them! So, I learned two things from this. First - if you are attending a conference use the accommodations section to tell them you need vegan or vegetarian or what ever. Second - next time I am just going to order a % of the catering to be at least vegan options. Leah www.stampyleah.blogspot.com Everyone is raving about the all-new Mail beta.
