Guest guest
This subject has come up before on Veg-Recipes. This is the solution...bay leaves. Buy a new jar of bay leaves and put one in each bag of grain. Before you do that, put them all in the freezer for 48 hours. That should kill any eggs and bugs left in the bags. Then take them out, put bay leaves in, and you have no problems. I had a horrible infestation by grain weevils in 1992. They were flying all over the place. I cleaned out all my cupboards, I was killing them left-and-right. Finally I got all of them, I read about bay leaves and I've been bug-free ever since. I do keep bay leaves in all my grains (not cereal boxes though - we eat them up too fast). It has been 10 years and am I happy about that. Now if I could get rid of the fruit flies in my kitchen... Anyone have a solution for those little buggers??? RisaG New DSL Internet Access from SBC & http://sbc.
