Date-Nut Granola

2 cups rolled oats

2 cups barley flakes

1 cup sliced almonds

1/3 cup vegetable oil

1/3 cup honey

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup dates -- chopped

 

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease 13 x 9-inch baking pan.

 

Combine oats, barley flakes and almonds in large bowl; set aside.

 

Combine oil, honey and vanilla in small bow. Pour honey mixture over oat

mixture; stir well. Pour into prepared pan.

 

Bake about 25 minutes or until toasted, stirring frequently after the first

minutes. Stir in dates while mixture is still hot. Cool. Store tightly

covered.
