2 tablespoons roasted sesame seeds -- cooled

2 tablespoons dried thyme

1 tablespoon ground sumac

 

This nutty and sour blend of seasonings is used in Turkey, Syria, and

other regions of the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean. Roll yogurt

cheeses in it, use it to season plain yogurt and potato salads, and even

sprinkle it on a slice of bread lathered with yogurt cheese, or plain

cream cheese.

 

Makes 6 tablespoons

 

Combine all the ingredients and store in a tightly closed jar in a cool

spot. This mixture may also be frozen.
