Guest guest
The last two weeks have been nothing but frustration for me! I fell of the wagon the week I was away for work. Most of the time I made the best possible choices out of the situation. For instance, during the company provided lunches when 100% raw wasn't possible I at least stayed vegan. (I am not talking about a hog wild week, the rest of my meals have been raw vegan.) I went into it knowing that some compromise was inevitable. That seemed to put me in a down ward spiral, not just physically but mentally. I just can't seem to get a solid grip on my focus again. I am not saying I have given up, just saying my will power is running low right now. Putting that aside, I am really struggling with prep time right now. I am working 8-5 M-F plus going to school full time and have classes from 5:30-10 pm two nights a week. I feel like I am chasing my tail all week long. I need to have alot of raw food, fast. Not to mention easy... But I also need variety or I stray. My dream right now is to win the power ball just so that I can hire some one else to prepare all my meals! (everyone has a fantasy right?) One area that seems to lead me into trouble is the long days when I have work and school. I leave the house at 7:30 am and return between 10:15-10:30. That span includes 3 meals and at least two snacks. I am starting to feel like a pack mule!! Some meals just don't travel well, and don't fare well in a cooler in my truck all day long. Other than bird seed, what can I do to make this easier? Yesterday I brought fruit roll ups that I made to fill one of the snacky times. I always leave the house with 2 apples, 2 oranges and at least one banana. Those equal breakfast, am snack and pm snack. When I get the time to prepare early, I have been cutting a whole pineapple and putting it in a Pyrex bowl to take to class. Its not exactly nice to eat in front of everyone but I will not make it till 10 pm (and still be 1/2 alert) without some thing!! One more complaint and I will stop whining. ;-) I still haven't been able to meet anyone locally who is a raw foodist. The closest raw food group I have found is over 2 hours away. I feel like I really need to meet others and if out how they do things.... probably more a want than a need, but surely you know what I mean. (I did use meetup.com) In addition to any suggestions on how to make this less complicated, can some one tell me how long juice is " good " after I juice it? I would like to juice apples or grapes maybe 24 hours before I use them because of the schedule issues described above. Will there be much left in terms of nutrition if I wait that long? And, I haven't developed a taste yet for smoothies (especially green ones) Leah Leah http://stampyleah.blogspot.com/ Messenger with Voice. PC-to-Phone calls for ridiculously low rates.
