Guest guest Posted May 20, 2006 Report Share Posted May 20, 2006 Michelle: I lift weights - mostly trees and plants in pots, buckets of clay, stone or water and bales of hay in my farming and landscaping duties. I also lift friends and students in partner yoga and partner dance. So I am interested in getting stronger and more adept. I am not sure being bigger is healthy. When I quit dairy I shrank - I think I just lost water and white blood cells (inflamation) but I didn't do a scientific study. I recently read that it can take up to 72 hours for muscles to fully recover from stress (Page 12 Muscle and Body magazine May 2006 issue - no reference or footnote to study) so slow and steady workouts and increases may be best.
