Guest guest
Hi, all....I've been on the group for a while now and really enjoy all the info and conversation. Not being the most computer literate gal in the world, this is my first post. I live in Albany NY and desperately need to find a place for thai coconuts. It seems that the only way to get them is via mail order, and that is so expensive it is ridiculous. Does anyone out there have the same plight? And if so, how are you dealing with it? We don't have a Whole Foods, we don't have a Trader Joe's....you would never think we are the Capital of NY State! I am seriously inspired to open a store/restaurant up here out of my desperation. Anyway, thanks for listening! Terri
Guest guest
do you have a walmart there? I requested my local walmart carry them and they now order them. And its funny, they always seem to sell them out, the manager that I talked to actually said its a good seller. I told him...DUH...lots of people like them and we have a huge asain population here in vegas and they are all used to them and recognized them.....so now, I can get them. I just had to ask.... terrirossihomeloans <terri_rossi wrote: Hi, all....I've been on the group for a while now and really enjoy all the info and conversation. Guest guest
Try asian markets - they usually stock them. Be aware that the coconuts that are imported from Thailand come here by ship and are treated with chemicals to keep them from spoiling... Guest guest
Thanks, Bridgette. The one Asian market in this area doesn't stock them--but I get great deals on my veggies there! Of course, after reading your post, now I am thinking...gee...chemicals..do I really want these things..? Guest guest
That is a thought. I never think of Walmart--I try to shop at the little locally owned health food store, who will not order them for me. Ironic, since they know me from shopping there several times a week and say that there are more and more " Raw People " like me coming in every day. Go figure! Thanks for the advice! Guest guest
Yeah - it's debatable. Definitely not the best thing, but do the chemicals penetrate the hard shell? Not a lot of info there on that, but I'll dig and see what i can find out. Bridgitte rawfood , " terrirossihomeloans " <terri_rossi wrote: > > Thanks, Bridgette.
