Guest guest
Welcome Holly, I am new too, but I wanted to comment on the energy topic. I have been on this journey since mid Feb, and can see that I go through phases. I have less energy when I am experiencing healing pains (detox). It usually doesn't last long (several days) and then I feel much better. I have learned to follow my body's instructions, for the first time in my life, when I am just SOOOO tired I go to bed and sleep. I am a wife and mom, and its not always possible to sleep every time I am tired... but if I am having symptoms and low energy I drink more water and take it easy until the phase passes. Once it does, I feel so much better and experience an energy boost. I completely agree with your comment that it took years to get into this condition, and that its not going to clear up over night. I keep telling myself that every time I get on the scales and the decrease wasn't as much as I wanted! 20 lbs since Feb isn't bad, right? But it didn't happen overnight. Some of the others on this list recommended things like yoga, and I must say it works. When I do yoga in the morning or any work out I feel more energetic all day and have more mental clarity. I think its Margaret on this list who says, " your mileage may vary, " Don't be discouraged when your results are different, just keep going, you are doing great! Kindest Regards, Leah Holly Funk <dancewarrioradoration wrote: My main goal with going raw is to get healthy and have ENERGY!!! I am kinda disappointed that after 3 months I still have constant daily fatigue. But I look at this way, I've been in this mess for 12 years it's going to take more than 3 months to get out of it. I just get my hopes so high when I read these testimonials about how people feel great sometimes after weeks or sometimes even days. Messenger with Voice. Guest guest
I would like to make a comment that after I starting taking about 2-3 T of Udo's Oil, including hemp seeds, ground flax seed and eating my own sprouts - along with all the wonderful fruits and veggies - green drink, etc etc. my energy level and skin have improved 80%. Sometimes we think we are only suppose to eat raw fruits and vegetables - but it's IMPERATIVE that you read read read so that you are educated on what is really going on with your body and nutrition. There is more than just drinking a drink or eating a salad. Way more. Keep reading. Guest guest
Hi Holly Since what you described of you previous lifestyle your body is depleeted of the most basic nutrition, so you need to work on that. First of all since you might have really litte digestive enzymes you might need that, vagan onces. If your body dont have the enzymes to digest your food, you will not get the full benifit of what you eat. You need the enzymes to digest fat, starch, protine a.s.o. So buy eating the raw food you will start to build up the enzyme level in you body, but it will take time. (or get a good quality suppliment to begin with) Acidophilous bacterias and sutch, fantstic for stomac balance. You get it from fermentet foods, or supliments (to begin with ;-) Barley grass, spirulina, chlorella a.s.o. all fantastic to bulid up your body and give extra energy. They are not called superfods for nothing :-) they detox too so be aware of that, so build up the dosage over a couple of days to weeks (what makes you feel most comfotabl), so you dont feel to bad. If it is to hard to grow the grasses yourself and juice them, you can get raw powder and tablets, check out the internet ;-) Good quality flaxseed oil and evening primrose oil (specialy good for women ;-), will help to balance you body too. I hope this was of any help. all I can say is that it help me to get more benefit out of the rawfood and raise my energy level :-) Barley grass is waaaaaay better than coffe :-))) Kristine
Guest guest
Thanks Kristine. I'm finally getting back to you. I will try all that you mentioned. Can you believe I threw out my back walking my two Newfies? So now, I want to go back into the old pattern of comforting myself with whatever I want to eat. At least I know that that's the pattern and I need the live food not the dead, right? NIght, night . . . Holly Chicagoland Mail goes everywhere you do. Get it on your phone. Guest guest
Thanks, Leah, for your welcome and comments. . . Just wondering . . . since I just hurt my back pretty bad walking my huge furbabies (Newfie puppies are about 50 pounds each at 3 and 4 months old!) -- is taking Ibuprofen and Tylenol not cool? Just wondering . . . Holly chicago Blab-away for as little as 1¢/min. Make PC-to-Phone Calls using Messenger with Voice.
Guest guest
Holly, I am not sure about the over the counter pain relievers. I have taken then on occassion since Feb, but I suspect that we aren't suppose to and that they aren't ok on a raw diet.... but I did it. I have also taken oregano oil in veggie caps (think like a gel cap) and it works for pain relief too. Leah Holly Funk <dancewarrioradoration wrote: Thanks, Leah, for your welcome and comments. . . Guest guest
I'm of the mind that if you've exhausted natural remedies and don't feel better, an otc pain reliever is ok once in a while. I'm a chronic pain patient, and as much as i hate to, sometimes i resort to drugs when things are really bad because i can't function at all if i'm in pain. Ideally, I wouldn't take anything at all, but things aren't always ideal so i don't worry about taking something when i really need to, or beat myself up over it.
